I think it is when you put someones mobile number into your contacts. Only supports some countries not all. I think this is right. On MSN messenger go to tools and you can edit your own mobile details and check boxes etc. Not 100% sure but I think that might be a start??

Well if you mean msn-mobile, by having an msn-mobile status isntead of regular offline.. it means if you click them, you can send them an sms via msn. But they have to pay for that, so I never understand why someone would choose that option?

When I connect to MSN from my PDA it comes up as 'using a mobile device' - is that what you mean??? If so, it is when a lite client (PDA, palmtop, mobile phone, etc) is used to connect to MSN.

J2ME is the mobile edition (ME) of the Java programming language platform. It is J2ME that mobile phones geneally use. A client (program to connect to MSN services) has been written for this platform so it should be possible to run this on any Java enabled mobile phone.
The biggest problem is usually getting such a program onto the phone. Mostly you need the development kit foor that phone provided by its manafacturer but these are huge and not very user friendly for end users as they are intended for software developers.
