Quoting gokuyum

It can be many things. Maybe it symbolises our ego. It is not easy to get rid of it

your point of view is very interesting; in my culture sheep are similar to yours goose; but what a big difference, for us the sheep = sacrifice, for you goose = ego....

Quoting Abla

I wonder why you call it folk poetry even if the author is known. I got used to thinking about folk poetry as an oral tradition. Are you talking about folk poetry as an opposite to Ottoman poetry, gokuyum?

maybe the poet have been inspired by oral tradition; many great romanian poets (Eminescu, Cosbuc, Alecsandri) have been inspired by oral tradition for their works..
