You see two noun clauses above. First one is a defined noun clause because Ahmet has this -in suffix and ev has "-i" suffix. But second one is an undefined noun clause because only ev has this -i suffix. Bakım has no suffix. "ü" is a variation of "i". Because there is vowel harmony in Turkish. They are same suffix. So when "çarşamba" and "gün" comes together they form an undefined noun clause and because of this "-ü" comes after "gün".

Here are my thoughts as a learner.

I have been told that to say ´on Wednesday´ you can use

çarşamba or çarşamba günü (the day of Wednesday)

çarşamba akşamı = Wednesday evening (evening of Wednesday)

çarşamba gecesi = Wednesday night (night of Wednesday)

çarşamba sabahı = Wednesday morning (morning of Wednesday)

So to answer your question, the ´ü´ is a marker to show the word is a noun compound, and here its translation can be likened to ´of´,

day of Wednesday.

But noun compounds do not always translate the same way.

Garanti Bankası = the Garanti Bank

Himalaya dağları = the Himalayas

Another example that might help you -

Çarşamba günleri bu müze kapalı. or Çarşambaları bu müze kapalı.

This museum is closed on Wednesdays.

wednesday = çarşamba or çarşamba günü

So, what if this nursing home has a name e.g İstanbul - i mean that i´m talking about a specific one. How would you write the sentense?
