So, what if this nursing home has a name e.g İstanbul - i mean that i´m talking about a specific one. How would you write the sentense?

I´ll try: İstanbul´un bakımı evi....

"İstanbul bakım evi"  It is still undefined.

Really?

what i mean is that for example when you ask me what school do i go to, would i say:

Narmer´in okulu   OR   Narmer okulu

Sorry for repetition it´s just confussing.

I think the confusion here comes partly from the terminology. When we talk about definite and indefinite compounds the definiteness tells something about the relation between the modifier and the modified (i.e. if there is some kind of possession in it). It does not make the phrase any more definite in the sense of being mentioned before in the conversation for example.

Maybe I am going off topic but there is one practical rule which I have found useful in building and understanding Turkish compounds: Any noun in this chain which is not marked with a third person possessive suffix is not qualified by the preceding noun. That is why Türk Dil_ Kurumu does not mean ´Society of Turkish language´ but ´Turkish society of language´.

Ahmet Yücel´in okulu nerede? Where is Ahmet Yücel´s school? (defined) The name of the school is not Ahmet Yücel. Maybe Ahmet Yücel is a student.

Ahmet Yücel Okulu nerede? Where is Ahmet Yücel School? (undefined) In this sentence name of the school is Ahmet Yücel. Maybe Ahmet Yücel is the founder of the school.
