Group demands ´male brothel´ in Turkey

The Turkish anti-poverty association, ŞEFKAT-DER, filed a petition to Parliament on March 8 asking for permission to open a brothel for women that would employ males in protest of brothels where women are employed, daily Hürriyet reported yesterday. “If you cannot save women from the slavery [of brothels], then open a brothel where men are employed,” said the petition, which was also sent to the Interior Ministry and Family and Social Policies Ministry.

what would you name that new profession ? We all know that is is impossible to establish such thing in our culture. In fact , in any culture , it is wrong. Brothel for women or Brothel for men. They both was wrong in the first place.

Some might say, it was necessary.

We all know that prostitution is one of the oldest profession in the world.  It is only considered immoral and deemed illegal by law makers.  Prostitution is also one of the most dangerous occupation because it has to be done clandestinelly.  So the women are beaten up, abused and even killed by their customers because they are considered lower than second class.

In countries where prostitution has been legalised, there has been a significant drop in assaults and murders towards the prostitutes and when the ladies get assaulted by their customers, at least the police listens to them and takes actions against the offending customer.  In the USA you have the famous Mustang Ranch.  In Amsterdam there is the red light district where the ladies have regular medical exams.

All places where this has been legalised the women are free to chose this profession, they are not at the mercy of pimps or madams who take their money and if they chose to leave they are free to do so contrary to places where it is illegal and women are forced to do this, kidnapped, assaulted raped and killed if they do not complie with their pimps.

And yes there are male prostitutes...  A man who has sex with a woman for payment, gifts, jewelry, clothing, cars...  This sounds to me like prostitution but since it is a man doing this it is acceptable and tolerated!?!  Why the double standard?

What is perverted is when children are taken and forced into this lifestyle.  They did not chose this and they are forced to do things that children should not have to do.

Hence, if prostitution would be legalised, there would be a better reglementation, thus inspectors and a more secure ans safe environment for the women and men to practice their trade instead of in dark, dirty alleyways, disgusting hotel rooms or back of cars.

I would not consider this a profession but more of a necessitiy for some woman to survive and feed themselves.

A majority of women did not have the option not to marry: it was simply a necessity for survival. Society prevented women from making their own living, there was an inescapable dependence upon men’s income. Inhibited by law and custom from entering trades and professions by which they could support themselves, and restricted in the possession of property, woman had only one means of livelihood, that of marriage.  No matter what the women desired, most were predestined to become wives due to their economic reliance on men. Secondly, to be even considered as a potential wife, women had to be not only virgins, but were expected to remain innocent and “free from any thought of love or sexuality” until after they had received a proposal. This requirement of chastity and absolute purity was not expected of men, as the potential husband had the freedom to participate in premarital and extramarital sexual relationships.

After a woman married, her rights, her property, and even her identity almost ceased to exist. By law she was under the complete and total supervision of her husband: thus through marriage, husband and wife became one person; whatever view he presented was the unquestionable truth . Not only did the husband have almost complete control over his wife’s body, since beatings and marital rape were legal, their children also belonged to him, as did any property and money that the wife brought into the house. Indeed it is understandable to see why many women saw marriage as falling little short of slavery.

This is a follow up in this story.

It says that 2000 men contacted  Sevkat-Der last week and asked questions about the employment opportunities.

You have to be  careful about the "honour killing". I am sure you can imagine the situation like ´ one of the clients falls for you and she happens to be a  quite posessive woman and she tells you to stop and you can NOT because you need money and the woman goes " you are either mine or you are dead" and  shoots you and then shouts back "I cleared my honur" as she walks away between two policemen!!´

That would be such a tragic end for me An opera about it would be nice.
