@benancetincom

Not including plane tickets,

just the amount of money I would need to have a lovely and fun vacation in Istanbul for a whole month.

(hotel, food, clothes, etc..)

If you only have 1 month to spend in Turkey, I would suggest that you should definitely see more than just Istanbul. Turkey has much more to offer than just the major city, especially if you want to get more cultural experiences for your money. I have spent 1 month in Istanbul for a course, but in my opinion 1 week would be enough to cover the major tourist attractions.

Maybe you should approach the cost question differently. How much can I see and experience with my budget of XXXX?

Some factors that will affect the costs are

- when you come (avoiding peak periods like Summer will be cheaper),

- how luxurious you like your accommodation and whether they include breakfast, (you can work out prices from the internet, (eg on tripadvisor, wimdu)

- whether you need a travel agent or you can book your own needs

- whether you like cheaper no frills food places (you can get a good lunch or dinner for 5-15 TL if you look around and avoid pricey restaurants)

- whether you are prepared to use public transport and walk to get around, or need taxis.

- whether you like nightclubs and alcohol,

- what you consider a fun vacation involves.

My granddaughter graduates from university in May and she wants me to accompany her to Istanbul. Our flights will cost around 700 euros and we expect to pay at least 50 euros each per night for two rooms. For meals etc. we expect to pay much the same as we do here in Scotland. I was in Istanbul 5 years ago but that was part of an organised tour.

I think you misunderstood me elenagabriela. I said 50 euros each (pp) per night. That is only an estimate. We might be more.

I am just back from a trip to Istanbul with my granddaughter. 2 double rooms for single occupation cost us €448 for 5 nights bed and breakfast in a nice hotel in the middle of Sultanahmet.

I was looking at this thread as well.

I saw a place in Beylikduzu (Istanbul) that was 40 Euro/night (115TL). It seemed nice, one bed and small kitchen. It´s here:

Does anyone know if this is a resonable price? This price is for 1st week September, would there be a big difference in July?

Any idea what the cost and how long to get to a beach from there?
