3) Ali iş.  bırak...  üç ay ol....  ---> It is three months now since Ali quit his job.

 

4) Bura..  gel.. hiç nezle ol..... ---> I haven´t had a cold since I came here.

I was surprised with sanmış.

I thought that would mean, she seemed to think.

I´m not a native speaker, but I think it´s more correct if we use its been 3 months.... since. Since we have since

Yes, that will sound more correct wording in English with "been".  Most of the time I am focusing on Turkish sentence more than its English equivalent. May be that´s why I missed the "been" there.

"oluyor" or "oldu" both can be used in the context, however "oluyor" sounds bit more natural / exact expression or better clarification of Ali´s near past. As we are making this statement at very present moment, present -yor can suit better.
