Does this ever happen?

I heard that Turkish men see foreign women like American, British etc women as "easy" and they only use foreign women for sex but then marry a Turkish girl?

Is this true or just another stereotype..

There´re many turkish ppl who got married with foreign women. I Cant say true, just because a few occasions, cant blame the rest. An easy fish has no race and it´s gonna be easy wherever you go.

This is very stupid and racist question.

Why do you think that your people are better than Turkish or anyone else who is not your religion?

Why most of British and American people are racists?

I´m not sure if that is as common enough to create a stereotype but I can say that is true in general. I would name a few kinds of relations turkish guys develop with foreign women.

1- Especially among those working in coastal touristic areas it´s quiet common to have more than one girlfriend at the same time. They are able to "love" a few girls at once. They have sex while they´re on holiday and sometimes ask for money when the girls return, making up tragic stories about themselves.

2. Those who marry elderly women in order to move to a European country, get money and/or get citizenship after a few years.

3. And of course those who develop normal/honest relationships with them. (this group is the minority)

For those who are to raise objection, I have worked in those places as a waiter, bartender etc. when I was younger. So I think I have witnessed enough to make such a categorization.

PS. I know there are many honest turkish guys who are not like that at all!?

I´m no expert but I believe love exists in Turkey and you should try to behave in any country.

How is this a racist question? :L Its asking if a stereotype is true or not.

Why most Turkish people think everyone else is racist and everyone is against them? Where in my question has discrimination against any person´s race? Please learn the definition of the word "racist" before you start throwing it out there.

I don´t believe this was intended as racist. But it could have been worded better (i.e. the ´they only´ ). It could come across as asking, are Turkish men bad?

I am not from Turkey but I have many Turkish and Arabic friends and they are all great people. And If you don´t like us than go away because such people are not welcome here, but if you are going to show some respect than we can talk friendly And why do you ask such bad questions?

What the hell is wrong with you? Can you not read English all that well? Where did i say i don´t like Turkish or Arabic people? You´re just trying to twist my words for whatever insane reason i have no idea.

People like you are the reason many don´t like Turkish people because you assume everyone has something against you, i have not stated in either the question or comments to you that i don´t like Turkish people and how the hell do you know what my religion is? I think its you who is the racist here not me.

It´s true like 20-30 years ago not only from Turkey but from all third world countries, men used to see women from europe as a goal to live a better life. I have read many people done marriages with contracts just to become a dad first then an english citizen but your government eventually realized whats going on and changed the laws in order to stop immigrant flow. As I said this was 20-30 years ago so there´s no reason to use you women for those purposes as it doesnt work anymore.

We are all human beings, there´s nothing wrong with meeting a foreginer woman and dating her also marrying her if you think she´s the right person you want to spend a life with. foreigner or not, hot or ugly... being "easy" is about you, yourself.

please consider before you post about things you heard from internet and stuff. I dont call it racist but it´s kinda annoying when you think you are superior and must be hunted.

Just another stereotype in my opinion. If you had said ´some´ Turkish men then your question might have had a different answer.  You could turn this question around and say ´some´ British tourists both male and female go abroad looking for sex fueled by alcohol, a dangerous combination. Some of the behaviour of British tourists abroad is appalling.

I think it´s the same with Middle Eastern people in general. Usually they prefer to marry people (spend the rest of their lives) with people that share the same cultural and moral values as them. Of course, there always is the exception that they break the usual tradition and meet other sorts of people. My family works the same way.

Uhm I would say no...being that I´m an American married to a Turkish man, I never got that vibe from him. He doesnt see me as an "American" & himself "Turkish", and what I mean by that is he can look past the fact that I´m a foreigner. Thats one thing I would say most people in Turkey cant do. It really comes down to the individual, the guy. You can find an honest good hearted person in any ethnicity and culture. So as far as this stereotype...i wouldnt say its completely false...there are some guys that do view foreign women like that...but then there are those who dont. And in any country its like this.

No. I am not like that, non of my friends are like that. There are ofcourse guys like that around the world. But it is not a special case for Turkish people. I have many friends who are married to foreign women and they are very happy.

Ok I´m not trying to be rude or ´racist´ and sorry if I come across like that but what do you lot mean by foreigners? Because every single time I see questions and forums like this people say British American and religion in case you haven´t realised there are people such as me who live in Britain but are Musli m so how do we have different religion to you? British and American aren´t religions they´re cultures. Yes some people are racist but the same can be said for any race it isn´t just British and Americans. Honestly I just don´t get your definition of foreigner.

Foreigner is someone who is not Turkish. Your religion doesnt matter. And being a foreigner isnt a bad thing. Turks are really interested in meeting and talking with foreigners. That is why we have this forum, right?

Exactly gokuyum. We have been coming to Turkey for almost 30 years and have made many friends. We find Turkish people on the whole very welcoming. Religion isn´t a problem. We exchange greetings at our various festivals. We have a few unpleasant characters in our own country.

I don´t think it´s racist or a stupid question, she´s asking if the cliche is true or not and of course there may be some Turkish men who are like that and some who aren´t. They are a lot of playboys around in tourist spots of Turkey and lots of Western women who are looking for romance as well.  Don´t be so touch. She never raised religion, you did, ask yourself why you did that? Be honest with yourself and enquire within, and ask "Why did I bring religion into it?"

Can you guarantee they are no Turkish men who ´love em and leave em´? There is 80-70 million Turks, some of them are that way. Probably most as most men  like new conquests.

I think knowledge is very much important. The reason why women in my country (third world countries you can say) are played by many White Causscian men is that women here do not travel, lack of reality knowledge, so they think innocently and believed that all Causscian men are better (nicer/kinder, wiser) than Asian men (which is so wrong)....

The same with you travelled to Turkey, your excitement for visiting a strange country prevented you to see the reality. You lacked of knowledge, plus you let your guard down (just like women in my country). Lets see, if you live there for at least 2 months, I know you will have different mindset

Remember: No one can trick a wise and intelligent people becausel all tricks are seen by them.

If Turkish men are "all" bad, then how can I heard many great stories about Turkish people from many European backpackers I met during my one month staying in Tbilisi? (They lived in Turkey for at least 3-6 months, and they told possitive things with wise knowledge like locals).

I myself have a turkish boyfriend too, but he does not work in tourist agent, he is a government officer (Tax inspector).... He told me Turkish men are loyal and honest at heart (I believe him, because I believe humankind is genuine most of the time no matter where you born)

- Well,... my point is that.... If you treat a person with all dignity (not what you think you should treat them), then you attracts people who are admirable to you regardless of nationality and ethnicity.
