Does the -ebil- suffix obey vowel harmony or is it an exception to the vowel harmony rules???

Which is correct?
alabilirim
alabılırım

alabilirim is the correct one.

So the -ebil- suffix disobeys vowel harmony then!!!

Are -iyor- and -ebil- the only suffixes that disobey vowel harmony or are there other ones as well?

"-ebil" or "-abil"

the letter changed is a/e.

gidebilirim
kalabilirsin
yürüyebiliyor
koşabilirler

"bil" is not changed.

Evet - because the [i]i[/b] never changes, that is why I say it disobeys vowel harmony! I always thought that this was only the case for -iyor- and that this was only because the o never changes. Plus -iyor- is the only suffix to contain an o :-S

Both vowels in other two vowel suffixes change don't they???

I think it is not about the letter only. It is about its form. "-iyor" and "-ebil/abil" forms. Not about always "i" or "o" letters. Exceptions are about these forms.

What about the -meksiniz- suffix.....
Does that change to -maksınız- (I think it does)

Yes, it changes.

Koşarak gitti X Koşmaksızın gitti.

Sinirlenerek güldü X Sinirlenmeksizin güldü.

Edit: I saw wrong lol
You should give me an example about what you say. Why do you want to use -maksınız or -meksiniz?

I don't want to use then!!!

I am trying to understand WHY the i in -abil-/-ebil never changes to ı. -meksiniz is the only other suffix I can thing of with the vowels e and i in that order......

As I understand it the abil / ebil suffix comes from "bilmek" = "to know", and this is why it remains the same
