Janis Joplin says;
Some say love, it is a river,
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor,
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you it's only seed.

'The one who doesn't know anything, doesn't love anything.
The one who doesn't do anything, doesn't understand anything.
The one who doesn't understand anything, is not worth
anything.
But the one who understands, also loves, notices, sees...
The more knowledge is associated with an object,
the bigger the love is...
He, who thinks that all fruits ripe at the same time as
blueberries, knows nothing about grapes.'
~Paracelsus

The Greatest Love
by Anna Swir
She is sixty. She lives
the greatest love of her life.
She walks arm-in-arm with her dear one,
her hair streams in the wind.
Her dear one says:
"You have hair like pearls."
Her children say:
"Old fool."

Love is
being happy for the other person
when they are happy
being sad for the person when they are sad
being together in good times
and being together in bad times
Love is source of strength
Love is
being HONEST with yourself at all times
being HONEST with the other person at all times
telling, listening, respecting the truth
and NEVER pretending
Love is the source of reality
Love is
an understanding that is so complete that
you feel as you are a part
of the other person
accepting the other person
just the way they are
and not tryingto change them
to be something else
Love is the source of unity
Love is
the freedom to pursue your own desires
while sharing your experiences
with the other person
the growth of the individual alongside of
and together with the growth
of another individual
Love is the source of success
Love is
the excitement of planning things together
the exitement of going things together
Love is the source of the future
Love is
the fury of the storm
the calm in the rainbow
Love is the source of passion
Love is
giving and taking in a daily situation
being patient with each other's
needs and desires
Love is the source of sharing
Love is
knowing that the other person
will always be with you
regardless of what happenes
missing the other person when they are away
but remaning near in heart at all times
Love is the source of security
Love is
source of life.
******
TRUE LOVE IS "WE"
INSTEAD OF "ME"
True love is being the best of friends -
being able to say and share anything while
still being sensitive to the other's feelings.
True love is built upon complete trust -
complete by knowing that you can never
be DECEITFUL or misleading, because to do
so would forever cloud the relationship
with doubt.
True love knowing that YOU'D RATHER
BE WITH THIS OTHER PERSON THAN WITH ANYONE
ELSE, and you feel a sense of emptiness
when the two of you apart.
It's when you always think of the
future in terms of "WE" instead of "me".
True love is treasuring the touch of
the other person while feeling a sense of
contentment and completeness as you
emotionally ahd physically embrace.
True love is wanting to make the other
person happy and fulfilled in every possible
way while doing everything you can to
prevent their distress.
True love is a commitment to working
out the differences that will always come
about when two people become one.
It is knowing that life will bring pain
and sorrow, but together, you will support
each other and overcome even the most
difficult times.
True love is showing and saying "I love
you" even when you both know - through a
simple smile - that doing so isn't necessary.
True love is complete within itself, and it
lasts into eternity.
I answered this question in other forum
" I LOVE YOU" with this poem.
Lucky who can find this kind of love.
Good luck to all!
Regards Bliss

Beautiful poem bliss
To me, love is putting the other person first, love is sacrifical, love is selfsacrificing.
'Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.' Jesus is the ultimate example of love.

wow love being described as a 'virus', now that's original! and also kinda ture, its a good way to describe it. From love you can understand a lot of stuff, not only love between two people but like sentimental stuff., you can alos understand the importance of sumting from luv.[well that wat i think neway.]

fırtınaya yakalanmışken buldum seni
kayıp bir kentin çıkmaz sokağında
suskunluğundan damlayan gözyaşlarında boğuluyorum
yorumsuz bir kitapla hecesiz cümleler kuruyor
seni anlamaya çalışıyorum
sonu gittikçe hazinleşen öykü olduk
koşsam sana kaçacaksın biliyorum
sussam; ağlıyacak
gülsem; korkacaksın
dolu dizgin hayalerinin şÃ¶valyesi olsam diyorum bazen
biliyorum
hakkım yok
SUSUYORUM...

Sana Anlatabilmek Seni
Bir ressamın tablosunda izlerim seni
Gözyaşlarım boyası kalbim fırçası
Hayal dünyamyn düşler sokağına uzanırım
Uzatsam tutarmısın ellerimi
Sararmısın sıcaklığınla,alırmısın dünyana
çatlamış dudaklarıma yagmur olurmusun.
Mendil olurmusun gözpınarıma
Bir müzikalde dinlerim seni
kemanlar anılarını anlatyr
Piyanolar ruhundaki sevgi pınarını akıtır
Nota olursun gitarın tellerinde dansedersin
Kalbimin her hücresine damla damla akarsın
şarkı olursun dudaklarda,
balerinlerin kanatlarynda süzülü?ün.
Bir şairin kaleminde okurum seni
Onun kalbine mürekkep olusun
şiir olursun sayfalara GunBATIMI gibi gizemli
Birde yagmur olursun dökülürsün gözlerimden
Sana anlatabilmek seni..

Geçemezsin kalbimin sokaklarından artık
sana geldiğim yollardan döndürdün beni
kendime sarılacağım yeniden seni hiç sevmemiş gibi
kimsesiz bir vedanın busesini söküp dudaklarımdan
gökyüzüne fırlatacağım
varsın söz dinlemesin gözlerim
varsın ağlasın isterse yağmurlarla
seni unutacağım
Vuramayacak artık anıların da beni
gönlümün arka sokaklarında dolaşmak yok
korkmuyorum şarkılardaki veda makamından
korkmuyorum kalbimle buluşmaktan
beni benden başkası vuramaz artık inan
seni unutacağım
en yorgun yerindeyim hayatın
en yoğun acısındayım sevdanın
hüznün karanlığını aydınlatacağım
her sabah biraz daha kendime sarılıp
seni unutacağım

THIS ONE IS FUNNY BUT YOU CAN LEARN A LOT FROM IT:
What Really Love Means
Guys, my manager forwarded me this message
and I think this is really great.
I used to dislike kids 'cos they can be very naughty
but read on (it changed my mind).
Man, I LOVE KIDS! They're sooo sweet.
The Message:
Slow down for three minutes to read this.
It is so worth it.
Touching words from the mouth of babes.
What does Love mean?
A group of professional people posed this question
to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"
The answers they got were broader
and deeper than anyone could have imagined.
See what you think:
"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over
and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather
does it for her all the time, even when his hands
got arthritis too. That's love."
Rebecca- age 8
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
Billy - age 4
"Love is when a girl puts on perfume
and a boy puts on shaving cologne
and they go out and smell each other."
Karl - age 5
"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most
of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."
Chrissy - age 6
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
Terri - age 4
"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy
and she takes a sip before giving it to him,
to make sure the taste is OK."
Danny - age 7
"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired
of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.
My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss."
Emily - age 8
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas
if you stop opening presents and listen."
Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start
with a friend who you hate."
Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)
"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt,
then he wears it everyday."
Noelle - age 7
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man
who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
Tommy - age 6
"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared.
I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving
and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."
Cindy - age 8
"My mommy loves me more than anybody.
You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."
Clare - age 6
"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
Elaine-age 5
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty
and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."
Chris - age 7
"Love is when your puppy licks your face even
after you left him alone all day."
Mary Ann - age 4
"I know my older sister loves me because
she gives me all her old clothes
and has to go out and buy new ones."
Lauren - age 4
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down
and little stars come out of you." (what an image)
Karen - age 7
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet
and she doesn't think it's gross."
Mark - age 6
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it.
But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
Jessica - age 8
And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia
once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor
was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went
into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap,
and just sat there. When his Mother asked
what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,
"Nothing, I just helped him cry"

Well i can love for no benefit.. but my love is still a very selfish one I think every love is actually.
"Love gives and takes everything for itself"
(this is a translation of something Italian, but i forgot.. must have been something like.. amore donne e reclama tutto per se)

Here's an interesting quote from a different point of view:
