Pleased to meet you = Çok memnun oldum.
But I don't know if you can say this after saying Hello, or if it is used as a goodbye?
I thought you could say it as a hello, but when I did that to Kadir's mom she smiled like 'ohh so cute'... so now I doubt

Do you already know any Turkish grammar and words then?
Because with just learning 'quotes', you cant have a conversation. Because you;ll be able to say a few, but you won't be able to understand the reply your in laws will give you!
I met my in-laws this summer too for the first time and my lover also did most of the translation, but my basic Turkish is fine enough to have a small conversation and understand the replies. The people you will speak with, will simplify their language because they realize you are just learning

Well we've known each other for 2.5 years by now, we met on internet and fell in love quite soon. So far we've seen each other only 4 times. We are officially together for a year and a couple of months now.. I was in Turkey for 2 weeks too, in Çeşme close to Izmir city. In Didim I met his parents first time, as there was no opportunity the other 2 times that I had visited Türkiye. In 7 weeks I will move to Izmir to go to universitey there to learn Turkish and see if this love is both what we hope and expect from it
