Haha! they look really cool!
And I was just wondering about the bananas, is that why they look so different in Turkey from the one's we've got in Holland? Somehow they look a bit.. you know.. dirty or something.. I've never dared to eat them in Turkey

CYRANO!!!!!!!!!
Fruit and vegetables in Turkey look uglier because they are natural! It's true - they are grown in the sun and do not have to conform to stupid EU standards. They are natural and taste much better - even if they dont look so pretty !

Quoting mltm: Quoting sarah_k: Its the same with bananas, they never taste the same in England as sun-ripened bananas |
But bananas don't need sun to ripen. You can pick them green and with heat because of the chemicals inside, they ripen.
Maybe, you talk about Anamur Banana, that's a special small banana species of Türkiye. It's my favourite as well. |
Bananas, tomatos etc dont NEED the sun to ripen, but if they are ripened in the sun they taste 100% better. Bananas which have been ripened in the sun are sweeter and have thinner skins. You can NEVER buy them like that in the UK.
