Quoting christine_usa: Have a wonderful time in Fethiye! Anything could happen anywhere at anytime today in terms of terrorism- it doesn't deter me either from living. Fethiye was my favorite town of the ten I traveled through this summer in Turkey.
The Blue Cruise was the highlight of my trip there.
Have you been to Fethiye before?

I'm going to Hisaronu which is basically fethiye (i think), it will be my 3rd time in September, absolutely love the place. Cant wait to see all my turkish friends!

It scares me and makes me sad. I wonder when this will end and when the people who do it realize they will never get their target this way, whatever it may be. And if they do, it means 'we' say yes to violence.
Even if the the thing you fight for is a good thing (i'm not talking about this situation!!), you should never use violence. Because once you reach your goal, the experience wil have taught you that violence is a sollution to get what you want. It will make nations greedy and dangerous.
I hope, whoever the responsibles were and whatever their goal was, that their violence will stop and that they don't reach their goals through these ways.

Of course WE will all go, we love Turkey and we are on a Turkish Language website. But others will not - even today I have heard people saying they will be too scared to go now.
Do we have to live in TC dreamworld now? OK then, there is no prejudice, no war, everyone loves eachother, the sun will shine always and there is no global warming!
Will that make everyone happy !!! !

Aenigma is right. The tourism that is good for Turkish economy is the 'all-inclusive'-tourism. Unfortunately, it is this kind of tourism that doesn't connect with the country: they swim the hotelpool and the hotelbeach, have dinner at the hotel restaurants and get drunk with the hotelcocktails. They don't get in touch with the country itself, thus they don't create a bound, that you have when you meet the culture of a country. So, as soon as they hear bad news about country.. they haven't got anything they can go back to: we have the music we love, the food we adore, the warmness of the people we like, the friends we made while traveling. They have their hotel, beach and pool. But you can get these in other holiday-countries too. So they stop going and touristm-numbers go down.

That was a very good point you made. The majority don't have a connection with the country other than to get away on a holiday. Oh well, I will still be going in December to see the country and the person that I love. Safe travels to everyone!!

This is so true
I have just returned from Turkia and I am astonised at a couple we met in our hotel......they only left the hotel occasionally in the evening and only then to go into Turunç town by taxi. Even when they were in Turunç they went to an English bar run by people so rude that when football came on the television they stopped a conversation part way through without explanation.
Personally I cannot understand why people spend over 6 hours travelling to Turkia to sit in the sun next to a pool when they could do the same thing with only 2 hours journey......
