I am very pleased and surprised to hear it Cyrano - well done! Environmental issues are my passion and I too take an active part in many public meetings and demonstrations - mainly with regard to environmental pollution. It is not something I choose to advertise about myself on this site.

However, my immediate concern with this latest news is as much an enivonmental one as it a basic fear of distruction. If this situation is not handled diplomatically and with extreme caution we will all be in a very dangerous situation. We have not been so close to a major threat to our planet since the Cuban missile crisis. In addition another arms race now beings, particulary with China and Japan. I will pray and watch very closely these next few days

It has been confirmed, that North Korea has performed a nuclear test, late Sunday night. The test is an irresponsible and provocative act that could pose a serious threat to the regional stability of northeast Asia and to global and international security. I also pray Aenigma there is a resolution to this quickly.

Hope that the U.S. will act more intelligently here than they have in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is unfortunate that people see violence as a solution.

So am I pleased to hear these. Now is a good time for us to recall, like it is said, that "Another world is possible!", both environmentally, politically and economically.

P.S. I am also glad to discover we share an opinion more. Let us discover more and more our common opinions and characteristics. Marry me?

I'm actually hoping the U.S. stays out of it for once. Let Japan & China handle this crises. We have our own problems to deal with. Wishful thinking!

Awwwwwww! I can't believe my eyes-what have I read?

Why have you concealed thus far you are also interested in world-affairs, world-events Aenigma? Why, and why again?

Where have you been cyrano? :-S Aenigma has always shown her concern for the environment in her posts.

I have participated in demonstrations and public meetings against the G-8, nuclear armement, enviromental pollution and the like in Seattle, London, Paris, and Istanbul, also in the Europen Social Forums, most recently in Athens, on world-affairs. Perhaps that's why I have seen neither Aenigma nor you, Joey, in any of these and thus don't know her, nor your, concern for the environment and the such-like.

Sorry.

I'm glad to see you are doing your bit for the environment cyrano, it was only the tone and the ridicule in your original post that prompted me to reply.

Surely I got your intention, Joey. So, there was no need any explanation on your reply. And I am sorry, I can't adjust the tone and mood like I wish when trying to write. As you might already have noticed, I write casually in English.

I can do nothing more than to agree with you, teaschip. You have wisely expressed your opinion. It's nice and pleasing to see people from the USA who thinks the way you do.
