The term in the UK for such things is called "Politically Correct" normally a bunch of do-gooders actually doing no good what so ever. I could quote a few things that have been banned in the UK because they are not "politically correct" but I would be here all day! Long live the Gollywog badge from the marmalade jar!

lol ahh yes the UK is well known for it's stupidity.... no offence ....I think the government etc lets down alot of their countries, for e.g. look who USA have for a president lol

I'm not complaining! Maybe if I was making minimum wage and it was unsafe. But I think I'll take the good ecomony, great jobs and keep my mouth closed for now.

It was better before this Bush fellow decided to flush it all down the toilet! Opps, I'm off topic and a statement like this might cause somebody to think I should 'just leave'. Sorry folks for being sooo 'unamerican' and 'unTCish'. Was that politically incorrect?

Can I have the last word?

Sorry ! I was replying to Keith, not meaning to have the last word on the entire thread ! But maybe I have !!

We actually agree pretty much here. There is nothing I dislike more than people that hunt that dont take care of the animal properly themselves after they shoot it. As far as anyone that eats a burger should be able to clean its own animal, that seems a bit extreme. At any rate, its all personal preference anyway. I salute the vegetarians for their commitment to a cause. Its completely honorable and does nothing to insult or harm me.

I HOPE YOU READ THIS. ESPECIALLY PIG LOVERS!

hmmm did u just come across my favorite topic.
Dubya (Bush) is kinda favorite person to me to prank on.
anyhow, im more interested in the Winnie the Pooh thingie!

OK, so here u have argued and discussed about it.
I agree that he has such good characters and a good role model of breeding golden-hearted children. true!
and i agree with all sides, but both couldnt distinguish that the Winnie is a good guy in the wrong body, i would say, wrong animal was chosen for this character.
i grew up watching winnie the pooh as well. in fact, not long ago, for im still in my teens.
I would describe Pooh as a good-enough role model, but NOT an ideal role-model for children... it rather hinders them and prevents them from choosing other BETTER role models, more vital to us. in opinion, children who become fond of Pooh, like favorite fans, and they got pooh shoes, sweater, doll, blanket, wallpaper.... i think they grew up to be somewhat mentaly un-developed people. im not saying retarded, but they could have developed some early skills instead.

True Islam prohibits pigs, and i disagree with who here called the Turkish govt silly or stupid for this action. I disagree because it was done democratically, and no doubt that if voted upon, it would be unanimous.

Maybe we should have a pig become US prez in 2008. oh im sorry, we already have one. lol

HOW can u, all people use the word pig as an insult and then use Pooh the pig as a role model for children.

So when they grow, they'll simply call eachother pigs.

"Hey pig....hiya neighbor, morning Mrs. Swine"

AS FOR THOSE WHO LIKE PORK, HAM, PORK CHOPS....
read this plz, i urge u.

"Apart from the Qur'an prohibiting the consumption of pork, bacon (pig flesh); in fact the Bible too in Leviticus chapter 11, verse 8, regarding swine it says, "Of their flesh (of the swine another name for pig) shall you not eat, and of their carcass you shall not touch; they are unclean to you." Further, did you know that a pig cannot be slaughtered at the neck for it does not have a neck; that is according to its natural anatomy? A Muslim reasons that if the pig was to be slaughtered and fit for human consumption the Creator would have provided it with a neck. Nonetheless, all that aside, I am sure you are well informed about the harmful effects of the consumption of pork, in any form, be it pork chops, ham, bacon."

The medical science finds that there is a risk for various diseases as the pig is found to be a host for many parasites and potential diseases.

Yunus: Yes, even apart from that, as we talked about uric acid content in the blood, it is important to note that the pig's biochemistry excretes only 2% of its total uric acid content, the remaining 98% remains as an integral part of the body.

I loved Pooh bear when I was growing up...are you saying I'm mentally un-developed??

Do you have research to back up your claims??

Well, unfortunately, you cannot CHOOSE role models for children. You may WANT them to have good role models, but the fact is you can do all you want and then they'll chose some air-head like Paris Hilton ( ) as their role model
