Lake Beyþehir is a large freshwater lake in Isparta and Konya provinces, in southwestern part of Turkey. With an area of 650.00 km², 45 km long and 20 km wide, it is the third largest lake in Turkey and its largest freshwater lake. It carries the same name as the principal urban center of its region, Beyþehir. There are thirty-two islets in varying sizes in the lake. Three of them are inhabited, others are farmed, the majority are deserted. Lake Beyþehir is used for irrigation, although it is also a national park. Lake Beyþehir is also an important site for many bird species, including swans, cormorants, ducks and divers. (Location: Beyþehir)
