What is the different between mutlu and kutlu?

Also does kutlu olsun have any special meaning? If not, where does olsun come from?

mutlu means happy, and kutlu means lucky, but instead of saying happy birthday i think they say lucky birthday, for example dogum gunun kutlu olsun = happy birthday.

...kutlu olsun = happy..... i think.

kutlu dogum haftası'' holy birthday week''
