Herkese merhaba,

Is there a difference between "He said that he accepted" and "He said that you accepted" in Turkish? Would they both be translated to

Kabul ettiğini söyledi

Yes because when there is possesive suffix involved, the buffer letter is -n- instead of -y-.

For example if we put them in the subject place there is no additional suffix so no buffer letter

Kabul ettiği anlaşılıyor = it is understood that he accepted

Kabul ettiğin anlaşılıyor = it is understood that you accepted

But in the object place we need an accusative suffix -i in that case the buffer letter is -n- instead of -y-.

Kabul ettiği-n-i söyledi = he said that he accepted

Kabul ettiğin-i söyledi = he said that you accepted
