In Turkey Turkish possessive pronouns are as given below.
- Senin is used just for second person singular. It doesn’t have a formal meaning as it has in English.
- Sizin is used for second person plural and it is also the formal version of senin.
- Since there is no masculine and feminine difference in Turkish, Onun is used for his/her/its.
In Turkish, since there are possessive suffixes beside possessive pronouns, the words with possessive suffixes can be used without possessive pronouns. (only if it is not needed to stress on possessive pronouns in the sentence)
Benim giysim kirli. (My clothes are dirty.) .......... Giysim kirli. (My clothes are dirty.)
Bizim okulumuz güzeldir. (Our school is beautiful.) ......... Okulumuz güzeldir. (Our school is beautiful.) |
