=====================================

In these groups, students study the assigned lessons independently, then they complete their homeworks, which are subsequently evaluated by teachers. There is a separate forum where students can ask questions. In the groups, when you click on the homework, you will have an option to answer it. The link to the groups is here: TLC Learning Groups

Do you already know a few basics? Are you familiar with some suffixes like possessive suffix, do you know how to make a very simple sentence like (my name is xxx), do you know any verb tenses?

I would be interested in your language group

Although not a complete beginner I would not yet describe my ability as intermediate. I know a few phrases,
I try to study the lessons online but need more practice and help
if I am successful I will be very pleased

And you should be serious, if you´re not going to do the homeworks (weekly), or if you´re not going to attend in any learning group discussions, then it will be better not to start it at all.

I plan on doing my homeworks, I plan on attending learning group discussions. I may have a sense of humour but I do take my learning seriously. otherwise I would not have been learning Turkish, Croatian, Serbian, Macedonian for the last 15 - 18 months.

As long as you are interested, there are no criteria. The only thing is that these lessons will be beginner levels. Either beginner 1 or beginner 2 or both (depending on the interest that we will get).

I´m very interested to join your group for begginners level1 . I have been trying to learn turkish on my own but it seems rather difficult to learn a language only by lessons without homeworks and quizes. I always take the vocabilay tests online and i have maneged to reach to the last level with promissing results put it is still diffucult for me to make a sentence.

Right now we have 7 teachers, which is enough for 35 students. Since we have 38 students who "signed up", the last three would not be able to join, unless we have one more teacher willing to help out.

I hope this will be a good experience for everybody.

Oh no, I was too late!! That´s a real shame.

Catwoman, I hope this isn´t too cheeky, but I was wondering if it would be possible to post the homework anyway for those of us who didn´t get into the class. I appreciate it won´t be ´marked´ as such, but it would give us a chance to practice what we´ve been trying to teach ourselves.

Or is that trying to get into the lesson by the backdoor?

The groups are not started yet, so that´s why there are no homeworks there. the instructions are to study lessons for each week and do the homeworks.

We are hoping to start the groups by the end of this week or early next week.

Sorry ladies and gentlemen,

I will be hereabouts as always but I can´t be a regular member to contribute things. Sometimes I can write many things on the forum, but another time I don´t have even a chance to check the site. For that reason, it would be a little indecorous to be here but no interest regularly. It doesn´t mean that I am giving up everything. I want to say that I am still here and will try to answer the questions about language, especially about grammar.

I just wanted you to know that.

"A new homework (Exercise 1: Alphabet - Alfabe ) was added to the Turkish learning group Beginner 1 for lesson Alphabet."

"A new homework (Exercise 2: Noun States - İsmin Halleri ) was added to the Turkish learning group Beginner 1 for lesson Noun states."

Hello,

you can configure the keyboard of your computer as Turkish, so you can get turkish characters.

also you can use this way that came to my mind

coal=ko(with dots)mu(with dots)r

well yeah it doesnt look that good... but an option...

Thank you Girleegirl and I am very sorry for all the confusion. We are building the system from scratch, this is the first group, the technical framework has just been done, so we are really testing everything while doing it. On top of that I am not the technical person, so I just take notes of the problems and Admin will fix them later in the evening (so unfortunately there´s a delay here).

Please, do not worry about the emails you are getting, the groups are not officially started yet. We want to have all homework assignments ready before starting the groups.

There will be a big announcement here when the groups are starting (I am hoping that it will be on Monday).

Every week you are responsible for 1 section and everything that is assigned for that section. The number of homeworks and lessons per section (aka per week) may vary.

The groups are officially starting on Monday, August 11th, 2008. You can start completing your homeworks for week 1 (aka section 1).

Cok tesekurler Michelle.

Will anyone add me to their class?

If not, can I go on a reserve list and start with the next group.

Does someone assign you a teacher or do you choose one or what. ..... Found this part of the site unclear

There is no reserve list. When the new set of groups begin in 10 weeks, it will be announced and you can sign up at that time.

You do not choose a teacher, but if you have a strong preference, it will be taken into consideration.

Would it be possible that once we are added to a group, we can make other homework assignments as well? I mean, section 2 or even further (I saw one in beginners 2 I think I can make).

Patience is not my best quality (sorry {#lang_emotions_shy}) and because I´ve done all 5 assignments already, waiting a week is sooooo long.....

Second (personal) reason is that I´m now sick at home and I´ve time and I hope to be back at work in a couple of weeks, then I might not have time or be too tired to do it.

Trudy, no, we do not want students to do ther future homeworks early. If you have a personal reason to do that, you can ask your teacher if he agrees and send him the answers by pm.

I´ve only just returned after 3 weeks away.  Does this mean I am too late to join?  Will there be a repeat of the 10 week lessons after this round finishes?

Thanks.

yes, it is too late to join. if only there are students and teachers available, we will definitely have many more rounds of the groups after this one finishes.

NOTE: If you want to receive email notification when your homework has been evaluated by your teacher, of if you want to receive a notification when your students have submitted their homeworks, make sure that you provided an email address in your profile. Your email will not be visible to anybody, it will be there just for your email notifications.
