... this long rambling narrative is unfortunately a typical example of language education in Turkish schools, colleges and even at a higher level.  This lady/gentleman is endeavouring to become a ´Lawyer/Solicitor/ Cousel/Avokat´ ... may God help his/her clients.

I am not trying to depricate Turkish language ... just the educational system.  Lack of punctuation is not a rare thing .. even by ordinarily, seemingly well educated people of ´middle class´.

Hello native speakers,  I am confused by the word ´Arılmış´ it can convey two different meanings (1) Parted, Departed (2) Reserved, allocated !!!

To add to my confusion [Ayrılmak = depart] .. & .. [Ayırmak = Reserve, allocate], so according to me >> Reserved ought to be [Ayır-ıl-mış] .. & .. Depart ought to be [Ayrıl-mış] ... and being dislexic I find this truly daunting.

I can vaguely recall some rule about the transpositi of  i, and ı ... but can´t remember it.

Can some kind knowledgable person kindly help me??

Thank you for suggestion ... but WinMekMak ... is what I was looking for.  It is a superb tool. For me, more convenient than ´Verbix´ or ´pgeorgalas´.

I would recommend it to any learner.  One has to first download and ´save´ the latest version [prferably on the Desktop] and then run it each time when one needs to conjugate.

Dear Fellow Members ... I had a Verb Conjugation program which sounded something like ´MikMak´ [it is not Verbix] ... unfortunately due to computer problem I lost it.  Can someone please remind me where to find it???

Hello caliptrix,sonunda, canli ... glad to see all of you still helping us out so nicely.  My problem ishandling conversation.  I understand most things when I have the luxury of sitting down in comfort and reading ´dilbilgisi´ at leisure.  My ´functional´ Turkish also enables me to cope with basic task of making myself understood [applaud the intelligence of the listner] ... but listening to ´native´ speakers in an open conversation ... and understanding what is being said ... I find very difficult (a) because of accent and colloquial expression (b) lack of listening skill.  I visit Turkey [Antalya] for a couple of months in a year ... and when I am back for the rest of the years ... my Turkish evaporates into thin air!!!  Of course I am in my late 70s ... and a dim bulb at best.  I envy you lot ... but tell me shall I continue to live in HOPE of ever being able to become more than functional????

Thanks Umut_Umut.  You are right ... it was my dyslexsia confusing me again.  In the sentence it says ... > oyn-uyor-lar > Coçuklar... oynuyorlar, so:-

1) Oyun = Play [Noun]

2) Oynamak = To play [Infinitive]

And it will be conjugated as > Oynarım, Oynuyorum, Oynadım, Oynayacağım, Oynayalim, Oynamam, Oynayabilirim, Oynayamam, Oynayamazdim ..... etc.

´Oyunmak´ does not exist ...  Thanks
