Quoting Lisabelle: Being a lecherous individual is not unique to Turkish men. I know that the vast majority of men in Turkey have very strong family values. I am sure there are opportunists amoung them but that is not to say that none of them will truely love you. They are very passionate and romantic. I would not trade my Turkish husband for the world. |
Amen Lisabelle...

I think Pinky probably missed the word "some" turkish men fall in love easily! I can agree with her to some extent from some of the stories I have read on various other sites.
I have had experience of this but he was British. He was a complete pest and it was nearly a problem to get him to understand. In the end I just had to be cruel cos he just did not get the message. How can anyone love someone the first time they meet or am I just a cynic!

Or is that only in Turkey and not in another country because then they have a good job or something like that .

I met a turkish guy on myspace and we had very intimate conversations,on MSN, and he later told me he loved me, I thought this to be true, until I found out he was saying the same thing to several other girls. I don't think this was because he is Turkish, it was because he is a GUY. They know to say what you want to hear. I have met several other turkish guys who are very good friends now, so don't assume because they say they are in love that it's because they are Turkish, it's because they are guys being guys. Girls can be the same way.....

Falling in love and loving someone is two different concepts
For instance, I fell in love with my wife the moment I saw her. She was beautiful and standing there smiling. I said to my friend, "God! the guy she is with must be the luckiest bastard around!†my friend replied,†How do you know she is with somebody".. And I said, "Are you blind!! Is it possible she can be alone", and he agreed with me.
My point is, I fell in love the moment I saw her. But my love has grown even more and more everyday I spent with her.
From my point of view, I guess that is the answer.

Yes HomeSick, you read my thoughts.
I was just thinking to say same thing when started reading the thread. .
Love is something big which comes with time being together with the person you fall in love at first.
Turkish guys are romantic and passionate like every man in the world. I think in every nationality guys are same. Love is same everywhere I think. Why we just think about Turkish guys and not others.(maybe because this is TC?)
Yes there are many guys all over the world who is looking for the things Duskahvesi told (unfortunately it is true) but I hope they are exceptions.

|
This is exactly my point. Men are men everywhere.
The only difference I can think of that is related to Turkish men is that they are not afraid of love. American men (which means English, Spanish, Greek, Italian, Turkish etc..) usually freak out when you ask them; "Do you love her?â€. They immediately attempt to change the topic .
BTW, that is my observation only

Men think functionally, this is the most important point, I think...
Women are more interested in style, color, size, feeling etc.
For example;
Usually in Turkish houses, you can see a showcase cabinet. That is full of glasses, plates, spoons, forks etc. They are there in order to show you! The creator of this style is always women! I have never meet a man who have a showcase in his house full of plates, spoons etc. Because men think that they are to eat, not to show
By the way, in Turkish families, designers are mostly women! Men can live a house without a special design for style, but i am sure women cannot!!! I saw this in my mom too Even though everything is ok about their places, she always want a new challlange... I ask her why she wants a new design, she does not really have a logical reason. It is just about the style in her mind. My father never asks the reasons like: "why is this tv here, why not there?" or "why should we change the color of our room, it is good for me". Because he know that it is meaningless to ask anything about style to his wife He never asks... Immediately, he starts to action! If mom asks for a new color, he starts to make calculations about new paints, and other materials. He never offers a color, because he knows that it would not make sense for my mom
Another clear example;
No men want a flower as a gift, because flower is not functional...
Having a black, old and dirty tv (but works with many channels) is always preffered, instead of having a new, colorful, clean but just some (1 or a few) channels...(FOR MEN)(I think it is reverse for women)
One more thing to remember:
Red is a color to show itself, and women who want to show herself use it, but i don't think that men do the same...
Look at the numbers of styles of shoes which men have and women have...
How many types of clothes do men use? I think we can count them with our fingers.... But what about women?(I cannot count them sorry, do not ask me )
maybe I wrote some exaggregration, maybe something is depends on culture, lifestyle of the country etc. But that's the reality... If men wants to be good with their partners, they must shut their pretty mouths while the topic is style or color or another thing what is not linked directly with logic.
(by the way i am male )

From my experience, Turkish women do not easily fall in love, or if they do, they do not show it! They make you work really hard for their affection.
Homesick, I met a young lady from Turkey two years ago, and felt (and still feel) the same way about her. I was in love with her from the moment I saw her! Unfortunately, she was in a relationship at that time. I try to justify and account for my feelings for her, but I am just not able to. So I just accept them for what they are.
Be grateful you won your wife's heart!

All men feel love and liking towards women, but what about if you break their heart?
How do they forget?..Look for someone new?..How will you call it then?..is it falling in love easy?or marry..again?How can you marry if your heart is breaking for someone else...

Well has just seen the question and wanted to say few words as I am a Turkish guy too .
1- Question should be like: Why can some guys easily say "I love you" instead of ...Turkish guys ...
2- Answer: There are many type of men in the world. If you are asking for this type of men, the only answer can be - I Love You they say is actually : "I am bored now, nobody to play with me, i am in the mood for something romantic, shall we have this romance together? Just for fun . It s nothing more than this OK. You dont need to be surprised.
OK now you ve got the answer so find something more interesting

That was cynical. Good point 'homesick' about initial love and that growing as you are together. Also good point about American men (and women) being afraid of love and marriage. If an American guy or woman tells you he loves you after a few days, he is considered PSYCHO and you drop them immediately. Or you figure they are saying that to get you to have sex with them.
I let is slide for my fiance who said he loved me after about 6 days. Because he didn't have good English and a different culture. I have had a lot of trouble accepting that he really loves ME because he doesn't know me that well due to the language problems. He said he knows what he needs to to love me. That makes sense with what HOMESICK wrote. If both people have love for the other and patience and dedication, there is no reason a 'love at first sight' can't work. As long as both people end up being relatively healthy people (I mean mental health).

Bigger isn't the same as better, first of all. Second of all, brain size depends on the body size to provide enough nerve fibers to all cells of the body, it has nothing to do with the efficiency of cortex to process conscious thinking. It's the connections that matter and those form through learning. Einstein was a short man and had an average brain size. And finally, there are plenty of short men and tall women and there's no IQ difference between them (other then the individual variations).

Don't know, are they? I know that many turkish men are likely to say "I love you" at the first meeting, just because someone has told them women like to hear it, but I'm not sure if they fall in love because I think turkish or not the ones who say "I love you" so easily just try their chance to get you. About marrying, I'd say the opposite, I don't know how many turkish men have proposed you but they do not propose me marriage! Then maybe there's something you should worry.

Well I'm half and half to be honest. The elderly women I see that stop in stores and talk to each other talk about their kids, and about the house being a mess and what they plan to eat for dinner etc, where as the elderly men talk about how nice a certain country is and the obvious football! but they always find something new to talk about I think.
Like this elderly man was talking to me about Iraq and said he worked over there many years ago and that though the media post this "load of rubbish" making them (Arabs)sound like they are the devil's army etc when they are actually "some of the kindest people I have met on this Earth" which made me smile and then to make me laugh he said "also, the best thing is that they know how to look after old people like me"
But then there are some women I know that are like that too. One is a massive football fan and loves to get along with the blokes and have a good old chat and she really makes me laugh. So I think it's just a matter of who you know I suppose.

It's kind of funny that guys who do nill at home, see themselves as if they were in the center of the universe and only entertain themselves talking about politics or football all the time, cause they never did home shopping or were genuinely involved in their children's lives are being praised for it! It's a nightmare!

İ totaly agree with you catwoman
Woman who is involved in her children's life is OF COURSE a wonderful mother, and she is making a hell of a job,she is offering the community big,big help only smart people can see
And when she can do that, and at same time know how the world is running arround her, then she is super and she is helping in NOT adding more guy to the one you mentioned them.
