Not exactly, it is a day, for comedy and wearing a red nose, or red ears, t-shirt with RND on it, badges etc. There is a big TV programme, of comedy, but it also shows films about raising awareness of poverty and funds for projects in Africa and also for good causes in our own country. Money is raised by people buying the red noses, t-shirts etc and telephoning into the programme to pledge donations to the cause. I think it is also in Austrialia and Germany.
