Quoting aenigma x:

I am sorry you have taken my post offensively.

That is all right. I didn't take it offensively.

Quoting aenigma x:

Actually I was trying to defend you.

Hehe! If that was your way of defending me, I can't imagine you offending me! Hehe!

Anyway, on the whole, one point is clear- that the word is in many cases considered offensive and that I had no intention to offend any one while I was writing it (which surprisingly no-one took it into consideration!)

if it is said, it's always used with the f-word in front of it.

As if the c-word alone weren't dangerous enough, it needs also being hardened with an f-word. Something like "f**king c**t"?

Quoting catwoman:

do not by any means give you the right to act the same way

Sure! Never-the-less this doesn't remove the fact that the word is used by many, which shows us that it is or can be considered acceptable. This is what I point!

Quoting catwoman:

I mean you're trying to be sharp and catch the loopholes, no?

No!

Quoting Capoeira:

What if Bill Gates starts making movies that depict buying Microsoft computers? Will that make it ok for you to go out and buy one or Window's Alta Vista now?

Personally I wouldn't buy them. But this doesn't remove the fact that Microsoft products are used world wide and considered "acceptable" by majority. This is what I point!

Now, lets look at the number of criticisms about Turkish culture. Very few.

Let's look at the reaction? Explosive!

Dont preach to me about intolerance!!!!!!!!!

In general you are absolutely right. (However that doesn't follow that you sometimes aren't still in need of tolerance! ) But I don't think I represent the general attitude of Turkish people when it comes to reactions on being criticized. Can you remember or show me just a single of my posts, whether under cyrano or AllTooHuman, that containing that kind of reaction you mentioned? Before you, I myself do criticise Turkey if necessary or inevitable.

I thought of you as more of an individual thinker not somebody who goes along with all the rest....

Murder and rape or on the rise in major cities all around the world. Will those be acceptable acts as well? How many people have to do a socially unaceptable behavior before you deem it ok to do? Are you taking a poll? What is next?

My mom and dad used to tell me, "if your friends jump off a cliff are you gonna follow too?", when I would justify my 'unacceptable' behavior with 'everybody's doing it.' At some point one must take responsibility for their individual acts!

if you quoted my whole post and not a single sentence to take me out of context...

...i did say the c-word IS unacceptable. as you can imagine, the people that do use the c-word in their daily speech are the lowest of the low here.

it is amusing (maybe not the right word) that it's mostly men who use this word and rarely in front of ladies.

My new computer has never become, sadly, new. Each time I have had to upgrade a hardware of it. Whenever I am at the point of making it wholly new, a hardware of it surely goes either too old or breaks down. Regardless, I am very pleased to run Linux!

Might all the 'i'm leaving' and then suddenly 'i'm back again' have something to do with the linux going down and then getting it running again. If you used windows maybe you wouldn't have to leave so frequently!
