Well I have something called kienbock's disease (not a disease though lol - just a bone condition)...I'm guessing if your not a doctor or haven't studied anything like this you won't know what it is.

I have studied human biology myself (and still doing so ) so I will try and tell you in the best and simplest way I can...

Basically in the wrist you have a bone called the Lunate bone which when having Kienbock's disease goes soft because the blood supply isn't getting to the lunate bone so when moving it, even to pick up a plate it hurts because the bones within the wrist jolt against it when moving the joint.
Anyway I had several x-ray's and a MRI scan and it showed my radius (bone in the arm to the wrist) is longer that ulnar (second bone in the arm that leads to the wrist), so what the sergeons basically have to do is saw away a few mm of my radius and put plates and bolts etc in it to make it the same size and effectively help the blood supply come back to the lunate bone

I hope I explained that well enough lol

When I say again I meant I have to wear a cast again (though I have had surgery before), because I had to wear one before the operation to rest it to see if that helped which it didn't as much as it should have so after having the operation I have to wear another one again!
Also having Kienbocks may explain why I broke my left wrist four times before the doctors said!

Also though the scar on my wrist will be vertical and not horizontal, I am a little worried about it because I don't want people to look at me and think I have cut myself or something like that

Have you had your surgery yet? You said 'urgent' but I have not seen you gone from here. And perhaps your wrist would feel better if you didn't type so much

lol I don't use wrist actions to type, heck I don't even have to look at the keyboard lol.....anyway about the operation, I am having a letter sent to me from the hospital to tell me when the date is. If it wasn't urgent the Doctor said "it could take at least 6 months before your even considered to have it, but you will be having it at the latest in March!"
