	 | Quoting KeithL: I have to say, I drive fast, and I have never made it from Ist to Ankara in 3 hours. I'd say closer to 4 hours. I hate taking the bus, I suggest finding a cheap flight. |
My dayı travels it often and he is always back home in about 3 hours.. But I have to admit Kadir's family doesnt live in the centre of Ankara I guess, that could make a big difference as well.

As a student I always went by bus.. the price difference between a busticket and a planeticket is pretty big. But last time I really couldnt be bothered to sit in a bus for 10 hours and did buy a domestic flight, which cost ms 99YTL with THY.

Nooo 10 hours is from Istanbul to Izmir.. it is less to Ankara.. If I remember well it is 5/6 hours? Not sure about that though.

Depending on how much money you have to spend, I would find a domestic flight on a good time.

	 | Quoting libralady: Thanks Guys, Are we talking from Sabiha Gökçen or Ataturk airport? Speed will be of the essence, if I decide to visit, as I will want to pack in a lot!! |
By bus: Sabiha Gökçen is closer to Ankara than Atatürk Airport I suppose.

For plane, it doesnt really matter. And for both trips Atatürk-Ankara, Sabiha-Ankara, either by bus or plane, there wont be a significant price difference.

Have you ever been by long distance bus?

Libralady, don't go by bus if you can help it.There are a number of domestic Turkish Airlines thats you might be able to try to get a cheap flight with.Shop around and i would only go by bus as a last resort, takes about 6 hours from ist to Ank.Goodluck! | |

You could try www.flypgs.com too, see if they have cheaper planetickets. | | |
