well, metehan2001 used it this way (part 25 of his story):
"Rusçayı öğrenemediğim için bir kere daha hayıflandım"-
I felt sorry once again for not learning Russian

Ahh, tamam. In the dictionary it says /a/, so for example if I wanted to say "I feel sorry for you" it would be "Sana hayıflanyorum"?

not exactly, hayıflanmak is usually used with "ben" or "biz"
genelde kendimize hayıflanırız, başkasına üzülürüz

so hayıflanmak means "feeling sorry for myself/ourselves"...
in another dictionary I also found that it means: to bewail, to lament, to bemoan

Thank you for the explanation
So if I wanted to say "I'm feel sorry for you" should I use a different verb alltogether?

Quoting azade: Thank you for the explanation

It's not "I'm feel sorry for you" it's either, "I feel sorry for you" or "I'm feeling sorry for you"
and the translation I think is... Ona acıyorum - I feel sorry for her/him/it.
Can someone help me on this also
