Wasn´t sure where to post this. Is Lemon Curd something that Turkish people make? I was thinking of taking some for my friends but I don´t want to take it if it´s something that´s already common there. Thanks in advance.

I just checked it on the net to see what it is, as being from İstanbul, I have never tried and seen it. For me it´s a new thing.

I read that it is something from England. I have never heard and tried either.
If you want, here is a video about it:

Scottish as well as I remember my mother making it. It is a mixture of the juice of lemons, eggs, sugar and butter cooked on a low heat until it thickens. Not recommended for those with cholesterol problems.

Thanks everyone. I´ve made it myself several times, I just wanted to make sure I wasn´t taking something to my Turkish friends, that they already knew very well. It´s also known as lemon cheese although there´s no cheese in it. | |

You can use it as you would jam. So you can eat it on bread or make tarts with it.My mum used to make it too.

Yes I could take some marmite. I also thought about taking crumpets and pikelets.

I´m going to make a brack loaf and some ginger bread/parkin.

I took some loose Yorkshire tea last time and wanted to take Lancashire tea this time, but it´s in tea bags, so I won´t bother.

The last time I was there my friend gave me some of her home made marmalade. It was delicious, but I usually don´t like marmalade.

I thought I might make some scones.

Has Fanny Cradock been resurected? How about a receipe for pressed tongue!
And while on the subject of Lemon Curd, which reminded my of a childhood days, lemon curd tart and custard, what about treacle tart with cornflakes in it! Yum Yum!
