Quoting vineyards: Are Bush and Blair national heroes? Do you know what hypocrisy is? Do you know the difference between insulting and (well as you say) bashing? |
Vineyard, obviously you missed my point. I never referred to Bush or Blair as National hereos, nor do I believe "Ataturk" is a national hereo. My point was if insulting Ataturk is a crime in Turkey, there are plenty of Turkish citizens who are hyprocitical about not respecting other world leaders. So it's wrong to insult "Ataturk" but ok to insult other leaders. In my world bashing is a form of insulting. Not sure how else to explain in laymens terms to you.

If you don't think Ataturk is a national hero then you know very little about Turkey it seems...

Like I said we all have our opinions KeithL. In Turkey he maybe a "National hereo". However, in other countries you may get a different opinion. I still think you have missed my point regarding "insulting". hmmm

There are educated opionions and uneducated opinions. Anyone that can blanketly say Ataturk is not a national hero opens themselves up as the latter....
And I don't mean that to sound mean.

Quoting vineyards: teaschip1, that's certainly not the way to discussing. You don't need to simplify anything because I find your intention quite concise and easy to understand. Another reason why you shouldn't streamline is because you may get tangled in that line yourself. Majority of people here don't know how to discuss whether they may be Turks or people of other nations. It is only those streamlined minds who classify people into preset behaviours. Once you set yourself apart from a class of people, you can do as much jive talking as you want. You don't even have to drink a few glasses of wine to do that. |
I think you need to reread your post back to me. You asked me whether or not I knew what hypocrisy was and what the difference between insulting and bashing. So I clarified it for you. Now who is insulting who, or do I use the word bashing. What's jive talking by the way?

Well let's see, I just asked a few professionals here at work. Sorry, no one even knew who he was. But heck that could just be an American self indulgent thing. You know we are only taught American History in our schools. So closed minded are we Americans.
