I can honestly say that I have never worn shoulder pads!!!
As for legwarmers - I don´t recall seeing fluffy ones in the 80´s........although I do have some of the little ankle warmer type things that were around then and are now back in fashion

There is a self help book entitled, "Overcoming 80s Fashion". It´s a great read for those of us who still have nightmares about blue eyeliner, shoulder pads, parachute pants, neon colors, the "mulet" haircut, painfully tight jeans, or leg warmers.

Why does it have to be back in the day and only bring back memories.
Live for today m´dear!!! Only problem is that I don´t have hair to dye or tease these days but there are always wigs when needed

You know bod..I envy my hairdresser. Everytime I get my hair done, she has a different color in her hair. In my profession it would never fly. If I had a job that would permit it...I would love to experiement with my wild side. I love that alternative grunge look...

Confessions of an economic hit man - John Perkins
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man is John Perkins’ fast-paced autobiography, which reveals his career as an economist for an international consulting firm. Perkins says he was actually an “Economic Hit Man.” His job was to convince countries that are strategically important to the United States to accept enormous loans for infrastructure development and to make sure that the lucrative projects were contracted to U.S. corporations.
Perkins takes the reader through his career and explains how he created economic projections for countries to accept billions of dollars in loans they surely couldn’t afford. He shares his battle with his conscience over these actions and offers advice for how Americans can work to end these practices which have directly resulted in terrorist attacks and animosity towards the United States.

I read that....amazing...truly! Good book and I highly recommend it.
I´d also recommend Charlie Wilson´s War. There is a move by the same name based on the book, but it´s silly and leaves way too much out.

“İÇİMİZDEKİ ZALİM”
Yazan = Emre KONGAR
( Sosyalbilimci )
Yazara gore:

´The Young Atatürk´

‘The Young Atatürk: From Ottoman Soldier to Statesman of Turkey’ by George W. Gawrych (I.B. Tauris, 2013, $35, 288 pages)
There has been a resurgence of popular interest in Mustafa Kemal Atatürk of late. Almost all opposition groups have been selectively reconsidering the legacy of the Turkish Republic’s founder, in response to the country’s bitter recent culture wars and in the afterglow of the summer’s Gezi protests. Abroad, interest in Atatürk was also piqued by anti-government protesters photographed waving around his picture, so it’s probably an auspicious time to be publishing a new book on the man. This title by historian George W. Gawrych is primarily focused on the military aspect of the “young Atatürk,” and self-admittedly doesn’t aim to provide a complete assessment of its subject’s broader legacy. Still, it does leave the reader wishing for a rather more comprehensive appraisal; the young Atatürk may be inextricable from the military Atatürk, but considering either with only minimal reference to the broader sweep of Ottoman decline and republican revival makes for a pretty dry read.
