"The first cut is the deepest", used to say Cat Stevens all of the time, when she used to prefer call him "Yusuf Islam" - insistently, insistently "Yusuf Islam", especailly sitting at her desk just in front of mine in the classroom. I just began to become an atheist in those days when we both were teenagers, and she used to derive proofs about Islam from saying insistently "Yusuf Islam", as if saying, "See, even Cat Stevens became a Muslim!" It was true that he became a Muslim, but for me, he would still say "the first cut is the deepest". That "first cut" always remained "the deepest", -how strange!- she completely covered herself and gave up listening to her "Yusuf Islam".

They say he had said for few who committed suicide after he became a muslim, "Instead, it would have been better if they, too, had become muslims", and I say "it would have been better if she had continued to listen to Cat Stevens instead of covering herself."

One of the most hurting actual facts must be the fact that you know you are a big NOTHING. NOTHING is thought or felt about you. You deserve, for example, anger, hate, hatred, insults or some hurting words. But NONE of these are said to or thought or felt about you. Because you mean and are NOTHING to them. And they know well the fact that they think or feel NOTHING, not even anger or hatred, about you is the biggest punishment and the most hurting case to you. To know, for example, you are hated indicates that you STILL mean SOMETHING to them.

It does hurt! That is hurting!
