Thread: Bus Journey

Hi Everyone,

I´m used to 2 hour bus journeys in Turkey but my next one will be 6 hours.  I wonder if someone is able to let me know if there are likely to be any bathroom or food stops along the way?  I´ll be travelling from Istanbul to the manisa area.

Many thanks. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

p.s. I don´t visit here often nowadays and I´ve noticed I must have forgotten to sign out on my last visit.  I thought it timed out automatically.

Exactly!

sorry,

i forgot to quote Alameda´s first post. I was trying to clarify it for her.

Anyway, I agree that procedures need to be tightened.

I also tried it but no, it´s not accepted.

I just don´t understand what does "Provide a formal(textbook-like) answer." mean actually??

Perhaps they want you to provide the formula you used in order to calculate the answer.

Marion,

Thanks for this info. But I cannot still get it through. There is a question somewhere and I tried all of the following but all of them are rejected.

Thirteen million, nine hundred and eighty-three thousand, eight hundred and sixteen
Thirteen million nine hundred and eighty-three thousand eight hundred and sixteen
THIRTEEN MILLION NINE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN
THIRTEEN MILLION NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN
THIRTEEN MILLION NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTEEN
THIRTEEN MILLION, NINE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN

Question text is:

In the game of lottery 6 different numbers are chosen among 49. How many different combinations are there? Provide a formal(textbook-like) answer.

And I am very sure of the number.

? binomial(49,6)
%1 = 13983816

does the answer have to be written as words? That seems strange to me.  Commas are used to separate the digits:

13,983,816

The way I understand it is that the new rule is to stop abuse of the tourist visa. Anyone wishing to work and live in Turkey or retire there can apply for the relevant visas/permits. I presume applications will, as a necessity, have to include evidence of the applicant´s ability to support themselves financially.

You can go to Adapazarı (or Sakarya) directly with akmis seyahat which shuttle service from sabiha gökcen airport to Adapazarı. You can reach them from here; http://www.akmisseyahat.com/ but their page only Turkish.

Thanks for the information, I think it could be useful for me. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Different question regarding S. Gokcen airport: is there a main bus station nearby that services most locations? I usually fly into İstanbul, and go to the otogar for a VIB bus to Adapazarı but if I can get a cheaper flight to S. Gokcen and a bus from there it may be a better option. Thanks in advance

In my opinion "My Name Is Red" is his best book. It is easy to read and very enjoying. If you didn´t like this never open the cover of "Black Book". I finished it and lost my sanity

I read his "Istanbul" book first and enjoyed it.  I didn´t read another until recently, when I read "The Black Book".  I enjoyed this one too, although it was peculiar in some ways and my simple mind was disappointed with the ending lol.

I tried to read "Museum of Innocence" but had to give it up because I wasn´t enjoying the subject matter, although I can appreciate Pamuk´s skill in developing his characters.

His work that I´ve enjoyed the most is "Snow".  I waited for over a month for "My Name is Red" to become available from the library but, after reading about 100 pages, I´ve had to give up on it.  I will return to it later though.  It´s a busy time of year at work and, as I was reading, I found myself wondering what I had just read on the page because my mind drifted to work matters.  I´ll give it another try when I´m on holiday.  So, the fault there is mine, not Pamuk´s.
