No,actually you cann't use yok here.
Yok means not exist,so you cann't use it instead of Hayır,which means No. |
I've sometimes heard 'yok' used as sort of a slang, but you're right that it's not corret use of it.

Yok is also used to mean a "NO". And it's very popular in colloquial language. I myself also use it instead of "hayır" most of the times.
And it's also very popular when dubbing the foreign movies. When somebody says "no" in English, we hear a "yo" (shorter form of "yok") in Turkish dubbing.
