The time of year has come when I feel the most emotions and dearly miss my loved one namely Christian festivial of christmas I am not very religious actually so this time of year means getting together with loved ones and spending a good day eating and meeting friends and family, the dearest person to me will not be with me unfortunately my girlfriend. The Turkish date is from what I believe Kurban Bayrami will be celebrated on 31 December 2006-1-2-3 January 2007 can someone tell me more about this please how you celebrate this time of year

" بسم الله والله أكبر [ اللهم منك ولك ] اللهم تقبل مني "

it means something like: "by the name of god, and Allah is great, this is from you and sacrified for u, accept it from me"

Why is it awful sacrificing a sheep or a goat? Millions of animals die around the world all the time for the same purpose = food.
What's the big deal?
