not exactly, hayıflanmak is usually used with "ben" or "biz"
genelde kendimize hayıflanırız, başkasına üzülürüz

It's not "I'm feel sorry for you" it's either, "I feel sorry for you" or "I'm feeling sorry for you"

acımak means also be sorry but it means "to pity"/"to feel pity for" more.
"üzüldüm" has a feeling like you have the pain inside of you.
"acıdım" has a feeling that the pain of that person is very big but there is also a cold-blooded idea, I think.
My idea: Generally everyone can "acımak" but noone can "üzülmek" sincerely. Everyone can see a homeless but not everyone helps him. "To be just sorry" is acımak, and also üzülmek. But üzülmek can also be deeply.

Not exactly, it is a day, for comedy and wearing a red nose, or red ears, t-shirt with RND on it, badges etc. There is a big TV programme, of comedy, but it also shows films about raising awareness of poverty and funds for projects in Africa and also for good causes in our own country. Money is raised by people buying the red noses, t-shirts etc and telephoning into the programme to pledge donations to the cause. I think it is also in Austrialia and Germany.

There is a fun thing about the opposite: terbiyeli: well-mannered.
Have you had terbiyeli kebap? It doesn´t mean that the kebap is polite and says "thank you for inviting me to your dinner table"! It means done in a sauce.
Maybe the Turks think that when my mum taught me to say "please" and "thank you" she was cooking me in a sauce?
Funny, ´cos to us "sauce" means cheek, and "saucy" means cheeky i.e. rude!

I still have a problem that things I learnt wrong in my first weeks still come back to haunt me when I speaking! So, that is why I wanted to point some things out to you...
Anlaþtýk literally means: we have agreed. So it is used for "its a deal". It is a verb, not a noun. So you can use the Q: anlaþtýk mý? Have we agreed? You can also ask your freind whether they were able to strike a deal with someone else: Ahmet ile anlaþtýnýz mý?
To say "my" you put -ým (or the other vowel harmony versions of it) on the end of the noun. The benim is extra, for emphasis, but it doesn´t mean you don´t need the -m.
So it is bahçem or benim bahçem
tesis: is the noun plant as in a factory. Üretim tesisleri: manufacturing plant.
tesisleri için means for the factory plant.
To plant as in flowers is dikmek.
Çiçek diktim: I planted flowers.
You are 100% right with baharat!

Yes Kiara, you always have to put the possessive on the noun.
This is even more important than saying benim.
e.g. Bahçem means my garden. (On its own, no need to add benim. If you do add benim, it emphasises it).
If the noun ends in a vowel, just add -m
Elbise : ---> elbisem: my shirt
Kedi : ---> kedim: my cat
If the last vowel in the noun is -i or -e, add -im
Ev : ---> evim: my house
If the the last vowel in the noun is -a or -ý, add -ým
kravat:---> karavatým: my tie
If the the last vowel in the noun is -o or -u, add -um
If the the last vowel in the noun is -ö or -ü, add -üm
Gül : ---> gülüm: my rose

correct word is sakin. there is no vowel harmony rule here because it is an arabic word. for some foreign words we dont use vowel harmony rule.
sâkin ol.
i dont know how to tell in english but "bastaki a harfini uzun okumaliyiz. bastaki a harfi sapkali veya sapkasiz yazilabilir." in both cases "uzun okumaliyiz."

No, geçgeç is suggestion for "zapping" (changing the channels before TV).
I would say "bunu mikrodalgada ısıtacağım" for that sentence.

Almost nobody uses this word. it was suggested as a Turkish alternative to TV zapping but nobody accepted it.

most of these above words arent used in turkish, i think they are even not turkish!
they are just strange new word offers by "turk dil kurumu"
i recommend everyone to learn daily used turkish, not new unused word offers, when they are being used, ok to learn then.

Whey they are first suggested, they may sound alien (even funny) but as the time goes you get used to them.
Take for example uçak, I am sure it sounded funny to everyone when they first heard it. Now we all use it.

alfabe = alphabet [a,b,c,d ......z ] unsurlar means ---> elements esaslar = the essentials [in this context because alphabet is first thing to build upon it when you learn a language, it is essential thing in the language ]
s. alfabe sırasına göre.-----> alphabetically [ when you put things order, sometimes we put things in alphabetic order ,for example ; amasya

antalya
artvin
balıkesir
so "alfabe sırasına göre " literally " according to order of alphabet " which is "alphabetic order " or " alphabetically "
z. alfabe sırası ile ---> literally " with alphabetic order " which is same above.
Yes it is two words ;
alfabe ---> alphabet
abece ----> A,B,C when you read first three letters you get " a + be + ce
its like in english you say ABC´s . You use ABC´s when you refer essencials of something. For example ; ABC´s of salvation --> Kurtuluşun ABC ´si.
