When I went to the office after a long vacation, I found my table full of flowers, gifts, candies, angels, chocolates and love notes from my friends all over. I was so flattered and got so emotional coz i found out that i really have lots of friends who remembered and care for me. I received phone calls from my dear someone who means so special and make make my life soooo happy nowadays and brigten up days He is always with me especially when i was down and troubled and who understand and accepted me who i am more than i did to him.

Thats lovely Pizza but this is the bit I just dont "get". Surely birthdays are for such things from friends. I thought Valentine's Day was supposed to be for "romantic" love

I got a text message and a chat on MSN which was nice.

I've never really done anything for valentine's day before so didnt really miss it, if you know what i mean. I do think its a bit of a farce aswell but i liked my text message and msn chat.

Here in my country, it is already a tradition to greet or give something to your family, friends but of course, Valentine's Day is also a for "romantic love" where lovers also celebrate like having dinner, watch movies, and exchange of gifts

The principle of the day is not silly but what it has become is!! You just want to walk around the shops in the UK and then you will think 'this is silly'

I was awakened very early from the one I love and wished a happy v-day, condom free though! (I wonder what all too human will say about that!) lol lol lol

Then when I finally got up. I had a beautiful message waiting for me via e-mail. The message was three times sweeter than the chocolates! But, those chocolates and cookie were delicious!

It was a wonderful Valentine's Day. Even though I live on the East Coast of the US in Pennsylvania where we got our first storm of the winter season, my finace called me as soon as he got home from work. He didn't even eat or shower first after a long day of work, he called me first, which even made me love him more. Then he asked if I was at work and I told him that my office was closed due to the storm and he said that he was having something delivered to my office for Valentine's Day. He said not to worry, they would deliver it the next day.

For once, I couldn't wait to go to work and sure enough a beautiful bouquet of a dozen roses arranged in a lovely vase with a deep red ribbon wrapped around it was delivered around lunch time. I called him immediately to thank him and it was so good to hear his voice again. This distance thing really sucks. Hopefully this will be corrected soon.

Whew, I really rambled on. Sorry!! I am just happy!!!

Few years ago when I had a gf from Finland, I had sent roses to her from Turkey, she felt great .everything was ok at the beginning...After we left with finnish I had another gf from Russia and had met with her when I was in Russia...Then I sent her some gifts from Turkey as well but she asked if handwriting on note was mine or not
of course we argued coz of a stupid words

So I think ,I should practise my handwriting to find a gf
another point is that I have never had a gf in Valentines day.If I had around this day,we alwas had problems before this day..So I dont know what I would do with he rin valentine days....Robyn and some friends had chosen me as a most aggressive man of TC in 2006...I think that had to chose me the unluckiest man of the Turkish class.

in my opinion u can be in good relationship after long friendship but u cant stay friend after relationship...All couple say eactother to be good friends after love, but this is ver very big lie and it is impossible..Coz if one of them have even abit love to other, the person will try to have other ,will think in same way when he/she hear some compliment and promise will continue forever.hah...So I dont think that they cant stay friend:now Im looking back and think about girl that I was in relationship,we couldnt stay friend ,anyway it is really good to came accross after such a long time.

if u start a relationship with your friend then it is finish, the result of this relationship is more worse.coz u probably will lose everthing such as friend, love etc...

I havent this king of problems, coz Im single and happy

I know a lot a people that are still friends after the relationship ended. They care and maybe even love eachother (like brother and sister) but there are no more romantic or sexual feelings, for both. My best friend is after 5 years divorce still very close to her ex-husband.

it depends on why their relationship finished and this conditions are effected by culture.the effect of the leaving coz of having affair of one couple and feelng ignored are dfferent

Of course there are a lot of 'ifs' and 'buts' in cases like this. I agree that it will not work for everyone or for every relationship. But it is possible, I really believe that. With my ex (I have been living together 12 years) I am absolutely no friends (more the opposite), but if it ever happens again that a relationship ends, I hope I can be friends because ending with hate and other nasty feelings doesn't make you happy....

That sounds to me if the broken relationship was not important, if you can erase a periode in your life like you erase a black board. Whatever happened, whatever was the reason of the ending, there must have been good times as well and you can change that for just another name? :-S

That is such a sad statement - I think people are unique! I suppose it depends if you loved someone or not.

As for being friends afterwards...I don't think its possible to be friends afterwards if there was passion and love. Either person will find it too hard to remain neutral and not be jealous.

I think it is virtually impossible to stay friends after a break-up - as there is always one of you who loves more and still nutures hope that the relationship will be rekindled. It is kinder to say goodbye and let each other move on rather than waste their lives hoping one day to be reunited
