I would like to know how the men of your country are in romantic relationships (I know everyone is different but generally). I don't know much about western men. Are they very caring, protective? do they say "don't go there", "don't wear this skirt, it's too short".do they ever get very jealous? Don't they mind if his girlfriend comes home late and drunken? Do they use too many love words, do they say "I love you" easily? Are they casanova (woman chaser)? Do they believe in faith very much or little one night stands don't matter for them? Is virginity something they would prefer in a girl? Or what? Could you tell please? I'm curious.

In Poland it's hard to generalise about our men but I'll give it a go. Generally Polish guys are really great when they care about a girl (but I guess that applies to all the nations). Polish guys are definitely less creative than Turks when it comes to the language. They are not open with their feelings and saying "I love you" comes really hard to them. But when they say it, they mean it - and it's not "I love you" meaning "you're so nice and I'm enjoying THIS moment with you" but "I love you" is a declaration.
In relationships they tend to hand over the domination to their woman. It is usually her who takes the most important decisions. Of course when they meet their male friends they tell endless stories about how they rule at home, but...well..we girls know the truth
Household chores are done by both parties and usually both of them work. Women can go out alone or with their friends and so do men - but of course it differs from one relationship to another.
Ohh..and neither men nor women are expected to be virgins Actually it's pretty common that people live together for some time before getting married - something like a trial period. The number of divorces is fairly small in comparison to other EU countries - so Poles are in favour of family life as long as it doesn't limit them.

No problem Mltmcim, perhaps I should add that all my Polish male friends who have ever been to Turkey loved the indifferece with which they have been treaded by Turkish women. They all said that Turkish girls are like princesses - beautiful but inaccessible

I can tell you lots about Western men, well...English men! We have two extremes:
First the JEDI:
Most are very romantic, loving, and do not consider themselves above doing cooking, housework etc! My two great loves were both wonderful and did EVERYTHING round the house, cleaning, cooking, shopping for food..HONESTLY!
It is generally accepted that things are 50/50 and chores, bills etc. are split equally. I am not sure about going out and getting drunk etc. I think the girl who wrote that in another post must be very immature and/or young, but certainly they are not overly jealous and none of my boyfriends would DARE criticise my clothes for being too sexy or try to stop me having nights out with my girlfriends!
now....
THE DARK SIDE.... men who believe they are master of the house, master of you and master of money! Avoid them - you can usually spot them easily. They have shaved heads, wear English Flag shorts and get drunk all the time. Avoid these men at all costs...."beyond this point there be dragons.."

Not all of the turkish girls are like that, but they usually feign reluctance/show coyness (sorry I found it in the dictionary). It's about the culture, because our olders tell us that "show but don't let him touch" hehehe.

wow these are really valuable information. I hope there're not a lot from the dark side. At least we can distinguish them from their heads.

I also think its hard to tell, to generalise mankind, at least in Holland.. I will try to describe a few stereotypes of Dutch men/lovers
- The straight-forward ones
They are honest, mostly blonde, tall guys who are honest, open and friendly. They joke bits and are serious by bits. They are not jealous and won't say you can't wear certain clothing. They will put their coat over you when you're cold but they're not VERY protective.
Their girlfriends are usually bright, open and friendly girls.
- The player one
I think this one suits for every player-man. They go out at night and try to kiss as many girls as possble or just one and try to get them in bed. They are usually not originally dutch tho, but they're usually not turkish either (not to make any misunderstanding up here! )
Their girlfriends, if they have any, are the ones with VERY faded earrings, huge earrings, maybe a bellypiercing or smt.. they would be pretty much labeled as Slut i guess.
- The "ROMANTIC" ones
Yesss we do have romantic guys here for as far as i know from my friends. I never found one myself
They are the ones who give you tiny candles etc for valentines (this is romance in holland) and they hold your hand and our proud of you. But i think in Turkey they would be seen a bit like weak men.. They are not over protected and not jealous. They are loyal and they cry when you break up with them.
So.. there are good guys in Holland.. and they are not too lazy to do things in household and such!! And they will keep the door open for you, give you their coat when you're cold, they will tell you you love them, maybe sometimes give you cute presents.
But i think.. what they all miss.. FIRE! SPARKLES! MAGIC!
I've never met any Dutch boy/man who had fire in his heart, who had a sparkling love that glows like its magic.. And i don't think they have the ability to make you feel like a real woman.
And these I found in my Kadir-love!

Oh and to answer your questions.. this is about Dutch men.. VERY generally spoken!! No attack on anyone
- Are they very caring, protective?
They are quite caring, but not protective here.
- Do they say "don't go there", "don't wear this skirt, it's too short".?
No they don't. They might warn you for something dangerous to go to, but they won't forbid you.
- Do they ever get very jealous?
No.. not realy.. a bit..i guess the 'good' ones feel uncomfortable when you go out with friends or have a close friend that is a guy, but they won't speak their jealousy much and its not as strong as in Türkiye.
- Don't they mind if his girlfriend comes home late and drunken?
They won't get mad at you, but who would love his girlfriend to come home late and drunk?!
- Do they use too many love words, do they say "I love you" easily?
Once they r really in love they'll tell you they love you and they use lovewords, but i dont think as much as turkish/kurdish men. (or any man that grew up in turkey)
- Are they casanova (woman chaser)?
Some of them, yes.
- Do they believe in faith very much or little one night stands don't matter for them?
No, i don't think many dutch men (dutch people actually, women also) believe in faith. And some of them dont care about one night stands.
- Is virginity something they would prefer in a girl? Or what?
No I don't think that is VERY important for most dutch men. If they love you, they would ofcourse like to be 'your first time', but they won't blame you. You wont loose your NAMUS.

I would say the best thing about relationships being 50/50 with housework and maoney etc, although this is nice. The best part is that you are best friends and do things together. If theres a movie you want to see at the cinema you can atomatically know you will be going together or its its your day off you know you will probably be spending it together. not just him spending his time going with his friends no problem and expecting you just stay home and clean.

i think the point about brides being virgins, is nowadays more to do with the male ego. If a girl is a virgin on her wedding night, she will have no one to compare her mans performance with. she will think he is ok because he is all she's known.
I personally think you should try before you buy!

I am shocked at this revelation! This is more evidence that you are more sensitive than you pretend. But, would you marry a girl who wasn't a virgin? Will your brothers, friends, uncles, father ask you if she is a virgin and what will you say if they ask? Will you say 'yes' to satisfy them, or will you say 'No why should she be?' Peer and family pressure is big in turkey and sometimes even a modern boy will give in to family/cultural/religious/moral values, which perpetuate the oppression of women.

nanna,
It's my shame that it's my first time that I hear about Beliza. Now, I know that it's a small country under Mexico.
From the things you told, it seems that its culture is very close to Turkey. Now, I'm curious to get to know more about it. I'll search!
I love to know more about new cultures

In the UK there are many men who can only be described as scallies!!! They are supposedly hard and generally jealous and possessive. Fortunately this is changing!
I am a bit the other way - I cook dinner regularly, have no issue with doing the washing and cleaning. I love my girlfriend dearly but have no issue with who she goes out with, where she goes or how short she wears her skirt. I can hardly comment about skirt length as my skirts are generally much shorter than her's
Personally I have no issue with my girlfriend being friends with whoever she pleases - either women or men. So long as she doesn't keep it a secret. After all, she has as much right to do what she wants with her life as I do with mine!

And eyeshadow - I like it. It's good to always have the essentials! Actually my friend's forte is mirrors too. I always carry a mirror. But he has this ability to find a shiny surface on anything. (Perhaps he was a magpie in a former life?!) Be it a spoon, or fork! He even has a phone with a mirror on the back of it. Come to think of it, I guess I don't need to carry a mirror when I go out with him!

Went to see VNV Nation for my birthday last weekend. Took a huge bag full of makeup with me as I knew it would be hot and I'd be bouncing around like the mad thing I am!!! Ended up redoing makeup three times during the night
I am not so good with mirrors as I need a good steady wall mounted one! I really cannot be doing with these little ones for sorting out makeup!!!

Thanks sweetie xxx
VNV Nation played Sheffield on Saturday which is the gig we went to. They then played London on Sunday which was the last day of the UK tour and was followed by a party at Slimelights. I would have liked to come down to London as I love Slimes but Sam (my gf) had to work the following morning

Oh that's a shame. Well at least you got to celebrate your birthday in style! Right, on that note, I really should go to sleep now.... But nice talking to you! If I ever randomly (now that really would be random) bump into you in the street - I'll be sure to borrow your eyeliner!
