Quoting Quasimodo:
Who are not really interested in people's departures are those who never involve in "Farewell", "Goodbye" threads- whether they think such threads are open just for catching more attention, or not. |
+1
wana add one more thing..the ones who tease about other peoples pictures first should check their own photos and the first impression what thoses photos give are their only personality...
thanks for mentioning such beautiful points

Quoting reBooped: Quoting sophie: Is it my idea, or people are dying for attention here these days?
And am I crazy to say that Joey's leaving, with only one sentence in an irrelevant thread, was the only touching one?
 |
I absolutely agree Sophie - there is no need to post message after message threatening to leave - just do it if you feel that strongly! - it is very attention seeking and unnecessary |
Just to clarify - my post comments were NOT aimed at Aenigma.

First of all, it was me who first asked Aenigma if she could say 'goodbye' to everybody - publicly in the forum. I thought it would be nicer this way, since she was an active member for a while and I'm sure many people who even didn't have a private contact with her, will miss her here. Stating that you will leave has nothing to do with wanting attention, and though I understand Sophie's reasoning, we don't have to be so picky about details and cynical when it's not always that clear what was the reason of the person posting. Even if other people might be trying to get some attention with their departure, what's so wrong with it anyways, I haven't noticed any major problems associated with it.
I also wanted to add that sometimes, the impression we give through our dry writing might be completely opposite to how we actually mean it or what kind of people we actually are. For example, Sophie may sound a bit harsh in some of her posts, but in reality she's a fun, awesome person.

Allright Cat She is a big girl, you know
But here i want to say afew things, as this is not the first leaving event... i recall lots of members saying their goodbye to friends here... though lately this sounded some often... i thought too to do the same to see if it is enjoyable or not
Nah! no body would cry after me, i am sure they would kick me for my going faster heheh...
And that picture thing, after aenigmas "Fairwell" her picture appeared, somehow i dont know how, and if we are not technical we know it is only up to our Control Panel, i mean the control is in our hands... it wasnt a tease into anyones picture and character or personality...
i only wish that people could understand the point exactly... no no believe me thats not that hard... and stop carrying topic into other dimensions... and also watch their words before posting not to carry topics into other dimensions...

Quoting lady in red: Quoting kai: Just to make something clear, I modified my previous post. I am leaving but not deleting my account so I will drop by now and then.
Also I owe someone an essay and I made a promise and promises must be kept.
So for now, take care and farewell until I see you again!
Love you all!

I know that you were implying me, dear Ramayan. About my personality, I ll let others talk. But if you have something to say, Im all ears.
Anyway, I wasn't 'teasing'. I was simply saying that Aenigma's pic was uploaded hours after her farewell, which seemed weird enough to me, as she was supposed to be leaving. And actually, I wasn't the only one to notice. There were several members, who commented it with me, before and after I wrote the first post. And we all had the same question: 'if she is really leaving, why on earth is she uploading her photo?'.
Apart from the photos, I really don't understand why a post like 'is it my idea, or people are dying for attention here these days' was considered so offensive. And in addition to this, I said that Im sick and tired of reading about long sonorous farewells, which usually are taken back in less than 24 hours.
Many of us have made much more, really offensive comments in the past which were not taken THAT seriously.
And to cut it short, you are all moaning about freedom of speech, but as soon as someone comments in a way that it doesn't suit you, then you all attack him and forget what you were preaching.
Anyway, like my twinny_x used to say, 'I can't be bothered' with this subject anymore. I ll only quote some of Deli_kizin's words in another thread today:
One's freedom stops where another one's freedom begins. This includes that you shouldn't insult other people. But insulting has two sides: the one that insults, the one that takes the insult. Don't you think this is very childish and sensitive to respond in such a way to an insult? If you are sure of who you are and what you represent, one insult won't pull you down. It only shows lack of maturity and selfrespect (bana kalırsa) if you are this offended by an insult.
