I dont want to dampen your love life, but there are a lot of young girls who are wanting translations from their Turkish boyfriends. But their stories are the same, met on holiday he wants to be with you for ever after a short while. Even most of the messages they are all sending and getting translated on here are the same as the other guys. Girls, I'm not saying it's not love, I'm just saying be careful!!

i dont necessarily think that its a bad experience with a bf... its just that there are so many girls on this site who are saying, "i met a turkish guy on holiday... i love him.. and i wanna be with him forever... and btw... translate these mssgs.."... no offence to anyone.. but i can see what is meant by the first post here....
so ramayan, does this mean that u admitted that u think im funny...?? wow.. thats two things uv admitted to today... ur on a roll hehe... and i wonder why u didnt reply to that PM hehehe

I agree with u Kirsty...Girls must be careful coz culture differences will be seen after marriage and at this time u will understand real life. ppl can be hypocritical and unfeeling. Love hurts all the time

yes Janissary , but my reason for this thread was to warn a lot of the girls on here who are believing quickly the romantic words of the turkish man. When you and I both know there are a LOT of Turkish men who do this, with the plan of just making their life here. They are nice and lovely to the girls until they are married and have their visa. We even know a lot of them already have families back in Turkey they will send over after their visa is ok. I just think the girls should know there are a lot of guys who do that. :-S

In defence of the Turkish man- I would just say to all the young, vulnerable girls out there - It is not just Turkish men you have to be careful with, it applies to men from any race! When you are young(or old for that matter!) it is very easy to fall in love - because we all want to hear sweet words of undying love, it is natural. Take things slowly and don't always believe what you are told. It takes time to build a relationship. Dont be in a rush. That's not being too cynical, I hope? Just realistic!

I wouldn't say that it was just Turkish men in general, where ever you go there are creeps......especially those that play around on the internet! You have to be very careful of those

Love makes people blind all the time and we cant see some realities when love someone very much. if girls belive some romantic words and then get married quickly, isnt it their fault too?I dont think it s really difficult to understand someone 's personality. about Visa why do not they want to live in turkey or suggest their boyfriend to live here. do they know how difficult to live in a foreign country far from family and friend for all his life. even I lived in turkey, I miss my hometown... I dont believe if a man says "I want to live there, because I love you"...at first girls must find an answer why they want to come there...once and for all, I agree with some thoughts of Kirsty. you must be logical, life isnt a play

I think the saying that "Love makes blind" is an insult to the other side of love: Love makes you see beauties you wouldn't see without love!
And i also think, if you are BOTH aware of the culturedifferences, you can work them out
So indeed, be careful. But.. this is for every love isn't it? I think love is the one thing that brings living and killing so close. But fear and pain can make you able to do things you thought you never could.
Hesitate, and your doubts will grow, Take risks and your courage will grow..
To me, Türkiye Ãs the country of deep, undying, overruling, passionate love. A love that makes you wanna die if someone would be better for your girl or boy than you!
So even if your man is a 'wrong one'.. it will be an experience for all that will come.

...I think that there are two different discussions going on...one is trying to make perhaps unexperienced and innocent women aware that they have to be careful when they fall in love with someone they have met for a few days.
My opinion is that sometimes the difference in cultures make us see things differently and if there is also a difficulty in understanding due to not speaking fluently the same language, then the risk of broken hearts is obvious...and actually go both ways. I met a man in Alanya that told me how he had suffered when he was younger...he had believed that it was for real and it showed that the women had only had some fun with him on their vacation and did not want any further relationship...anyway...there are few men here at tc asking for translations, we see more women...
The second discussion is whether it is generalised...to turkish men...all men...some men everywhere...to be cheaters ...who play with other persons feelings?
My personal opinion is that this goes both ways too. There are women that also play with mens heart. But I know that we european women are hopelessly romantic, fed with american happy endings, which is really nice in a way...but this way also make us suffer...we make ourselves suffer...hmmmm...I know I made a posting on this before...
Anyway...I guess my answer to your question, ramayan, is that not all men are dragons...but heyyy...be a man...defend yourself!!!

Hey ramayan - i'm sure you are not one of the nasty ones - and it is true some women are just as mean, in some cases more so, as some men - it is not confined to any particular sex or race.

The purpose of starting this thread was not to insult Turkish men, nor to put down love. I personally am married to a Turkish man and I love Turkey and I am a big believer of love. So this thread is not about culture differences, nor am I just saying it is just Turkish men who are giulty of this, but as this is the Turkish class full of girls being romances by Turkish men, i focus it to them. Nor am I saying , Rayaman, that all Turkish men are the same. But I am saying that there are an awful lot of Turkish men who are using girls to get a visa and to be careful. So you Rayaman do not need defending because I was not talking about you.
