Would someone kindley translate the following text to Turkish please........
Sorry that I didn't call you back last night. I thought that I was staying home, but got a call from a friend asking me to go out.
Did you enjoy International Mafia last night? one day we will watch it together

Don't rely on my answer here - I've only been learning Turkish for a few days but I shall try!
I think the first sentence says:
"Yes my darling, I watch a film every week."
My translation of the second sentence was:
"I want to slowly use you as my pricelist."
But I am certain that is not right

Come on then......explain......
- "dizi" is film so how do you get the first sentence?
- "eder" is pricelist, so "ederim" must be my pricelist!!!!!

no, for film and movie we say "film", but "dizi" is always a series.
Benim de bir amacım var, başarırsam çok şey elde ederim.
hehehe, your second comment is very cute 
maybe eder as a noun means pricelist, but "elde etmek" is a conjucted verb which means "to get, to obtain"
başarırsam = if I achieve
çok şey= a lot of things
elde ederim = in fact it's I achieve but I said I'll achieve.
and by the way, eder may mean a pricelist in the dictionary, but I've never used it, we say "fiyat listesi"

No, no, you will learn! Don't be lazy to learn a second language thinking that anyway everyone in the world knows english! You lazy english speakers! 
How have we done? I remember crying when they forced us to learn this language when I was 11. And you're in the beginning, don't give up. Turkish is a logical language.
etmek = to do
I think the problem here is because of the united verb (how do u call it?) "elde etmek" and also because of the "t" becoming "d" . But from now on, always think of to do when you see "eder" since we don't use it as a pricelist.
dizi is not only TV series, but because of the context you get it.

Sevgilim bir amaca sahip olmak harika birşey, umarım bütün amaçlarına ve daha fazlasına ulaşırsın, dahası hakedersin. Umarım planlarına ben varım.
PS: In fact "Bir amaca sahip olmak harika birşey" is "it's a wonderful thing to have a goal. because this sounds better in turkish...

Don't worry, I shall not give up!
Whether or not I am ever going to be any good is another question but I shall not give up......
I was forced at school to learn French and failed completely. But I have really taken to the Turkish language and spend lots of time trying to learn. Plus I have Turkish radio on all day - I don't understand it but at least I am getting used to the sound of the language! |
