Quoting vineyards: "Diye" is redundant. |
What is reduntant is your post itself. But now that you say it is redundant, show us that there is no difference between, for example, "Ayşe aradı" and "Ayşe diye biri aradı".
Quoting vineyards: A more appropriate way to say the same thing would be: |
First, a more appropriate way to say it is purely out of the question here. What is in question is the use of "diye", hence something related to "diye". Then you can't compare all the above suggestions with yours in terms of appreciation since the first three, except yours, are more or less different than one another. And lastly which way is more appropriate depends on totally what and/or how a speaker wants to say it.
Compare "Ayşe aradı" and "Ayşe diye biri aradı".
Quoting vineyards: Dur yazan levha |
Calitrix already mentioned "Dur yazılı" and there isn't any differecence between "Dur yazılı" and "Dur yazan". A needless suggestion!
Quoting vineyards: or Dur işareti. |
What was wrong with "Dur levhası" which selin suggested, or better Elisa wrote, above? Or didn't you like it? And what is that that more appropriate thing available in "Dur işareti" while "Dur levhası" lacks?
Quoting vineyards: Expertize talks. |
He'd better study his own awfull sentence, "Not ALL turks are like the REST of the Turks."

Quoting vineyards: Much ado about nothing |
For you are an expert of English, you may not know that the English language has other, non-Shakespearian sayings, such as this: "Actions speak louder than words".
Now, do act and show us that what I wrote of your post above are "much ado about nothing".
