21 - Bu güzel bir bisiklet. Bisiklete binmeyi seviyor musun?

I'm not understanding what "musun" means in the above phrase.

"Football is a game played by eleven people"

25 - Tren yolculuklarını seviyor musun? Evet çok seviyorum.
"Do you like to travel by train? Yes, I like it very much."
26 - Bu tren istasyonu artık kullanılmıyor. İleride başka bir istasyon var.
"This railway station is no longer used. İleride will come to another station."
I am assuming "İleride" is a person's name.

"We waited a long time at the airport to board the aeroplane"

Quite a bit of a guess as I can't work out what "seyrederken" means!!!
29 - Müzik dinlemek için en uygun zaman gece vaktidir
"The best time to listen to music is in the evening"
Struggling again as I can't find out what "vaktidir" means!
30 - Çok sevdiğim bir şarkıcıyı bütün bir gece dinleyebilirim.
I'm totally lost on this one
I am assuming "sevdiğim" is future tense of "to like" and that "dinleyebilirim" is a concert hall or similar???

Evet, seviyorum[/i]
"This is a beautiful bicycle. Would you like to ride the bicycle?
Yes, I would like to"
I'm not understanding what "musun" means in the above phrase. |
musun is a combination of a question suffix "mu" and 2nd person singular. e.g seviyor musun? (do YOU like) seviyor mu (does HE like) - check out our grammar lessons about present tense for details.
Quote: 26 - Bu tren istasyonu artık kullanılmıyor. İleride başka bir istasyon var.
"This railway station is no longer used. İleride will come to another station."
I am assuming "İleride" is a person's name. |
I'd say it's rather "ahead" or "in front of" ileri (front) + de (in/at/on)
Quote: 28 - Televizon seyrederken zaman çabuk geçiyor
"Television makes time pass quickly"
Quite a bit of a guess as I can't work out what "seyrederken" means!!! |
it's seyretmek (to watch) + ken which roughly translates as "while" or "when"
Quote: 29 - Müzik dinlemek için en uygun zaman gece vaktidir
"The best time to listen to music is in the evening"
Struggling again as I can't find out what "vaktidir" means!
|
it's vakit (time) + dir (a suffix for stating general truths)
Quote: 30 - Çok sevdiğim bir şarkıcıyı bütün bir gece dinleyebilirim.
I'm totally lost on this one
I am assuming "sevdiğim" is future tense of "to like" and that "dinleyebilirim" is a concert hall or similar??? |
sevdiğim is the base sev- (of sevmek) + dik (suffix which works as relative clause marker) + im (1st person sing.)
so it's something like "that I love" (love - that- I )
Dinleyebilirim is: dinle (dinlemek - to listen)+ y (buffer letter between vowels)+ ebil (suffix which works like "can") + ir (simple present suffix) + im (1st person sing.)
You sure love challenges but...good luck

Thank you!!!
The lessons don't seem to go as far as adding suffixes to the question suffix "mi". But having read lots of stuff again (and lots of pacing up and down!) I think I understand.......for the time being at least :-S
So - would I be right in saying:
Bu güzel bir bisiklet. Bisiklete binmeyi seviyor musun?
Evet, seviyorum
"This is a beautiful bicycle. Do you like to ride a bicycle?
Yes, I like to."
