Very wise, Libralady . It nauseates me though to see such ignorance... The girl has a lot of growing up to do.

Cyprus had a good entry -_-" I dnt know why it didn't get in ... Ukraine's song was horrible!!! I don't understand how they reached second place! Best songs for me in order of preference are:

1. Bulgaria
2. Turkey
3. Greece

Everything else was horrible this year. But you have to admit politics and geography has a lot to do with this competition. One reason why Cyprus and Greece give each other 12 points

Well, I think that Greece and Turkey were horrible, dunno about Bulgaria. The best one was absolutely Iceland. I liked Germany, before I found out what their lyrics mean (so you know, he's singing about and glorifying "A Nice Guy Syndrome"). And of course Serbia.. . Serbia also had a great song in 2005 Eurovision (maybe I should see their lyrics too before saying that I like it ).

It's just a traditional Bulgarian style of singing (also you can hear it in some parts of eastern Serbia and Macedonia), and it has become very popular again with the revival of ethno music (similar to what happened to Irish music). If you listen to Hevia, Deepforest or (especially) D-Emotion (I recommend song Pritouritze, featuring Stevka Sabatinova), you will hear lot of that or similar singing technique. It's very hard to learn it, maybe one of many thousand women can perform it, and the most of them were learning to sing that way from the early childhood. And of course, you need a special kind of genes to sing it and love it... I am of those who love it, but I suppose it may sound weird to someone who is not used to that kind of music. But it's very appriciated world-wide lately, and some of Bulgarian singers made great careers in Europe thanks to their traditional singing. (Ohhhhh... now it's obvious I am a fun of ethno music. )

1) Ukraine
2) Turkey
3) Greece

That's how my list of favourite songs were. I don't like the style of Bulgaria to be honest. With all these drums and so on... They looked like Shamans. (Although they were not ) And I didnt like its music, either.
Moreover I believe Turkey's voting for Armenia was mainly on political reasons. No Turk would vote 12 for that song. It is either Armenians themselves in Turkey who voted so or it is arranged in some way by Turkish goverment or something to create some sympathy with Armenia. Why not? Isn't Eurovision regarded way too serious than its purpose in Turkey? But I believe there is no need for all these a*s- Licking. It is also a shame that all these old communist countries are simply supporting each other just because of their previous ideology. I mean... Come on people, it is music. Not politics. Live a life ! I believe this is the shame of Eurovision and Europe not to be able to distinguish politics from music.

She gave without doubt the best performance of the evening.
She was streets above the others in terms of vocal ability and that is why she won.

Keith's Eurovision Quiz Question

Anyone who has watched this event at least once knows:

A. talent alone does not win this event.
B. that they can predict 2 of the 3 top votes for each country
C. Cyprus will give 12 points to Greece automatically
D. Turkey's 12 points for Armenia is the closest to an apology they will ever get.
E. All of the above

I said the best performance....

That does not only include singing...

I do agree that Balkan countries have come to dominate the event recently.

But if that is true, Why Serbia and not the countless other Balkan countries there.

I was with friends that night and I said Serbia's song was the best, but that It won't win because that's not a prerequisite for winning.

But heh, something unusual this time, in that as far as I am concerned the best song actually won...

No, they don^t deserve, because their song is stolen.

Serbia's song is stolen from an albanian song, the albanian authorities will want their championship be deleted.
They are right:
