Well I'm a native English speaker and I have never in my life heard anyone say 'how manyth'!!! The only google references I can see are people asking if this word exists.

Yes...Lady in red, although I am not a native English speaker but I am English teacher and never heared that (how manyth) used for indicating rank, position, order ...etc. Maybe Shakespear did that centuries ago

The Turkish sentence is clearly reffering to the position or order of that president among a serial of presidents in Turkey. So I wonder why some friends worried about my translation???

I'm sure no one is worrying about your translation here , but just wondering why there is no specific, direct way to express it like there is in Turkish (and other languages as well)

You should know though (Im sure you do ), that our language does have it Dutch has a word for it too and it is used commonly, at least in the Netherlands 'Hoeveelste'.

Maçta kaçıncı oldun?
Hoeveelste ben je geworden in de wedstrijd?
(How manyth did you become in the match, 1st 2nd etc)

You misquoted me though, kızım

I said
'...like there is in Turkish (and other languages as well)', implying Dutch (amongst others) and thinking of 'hoeveelste'

This will get you into trouble with the native English people here

But in English we would just say 'Where did you come in the match, 1st, 2nd or 3rd etc.' or 'Where did you come in the exam?' Answer to this being: 'I was 5th/6th ( or whatever)'

As everyone has said, it really isn't possible to translat eht sentence word for word - I think your 'Which President of Turkey was Süleyman Demirel?' is probably the closest we can get, with 'He was the 5th (or whichever) president' being the answer.
