Did you want to say this:
"Bugün kız arkadaşıma oyuncak bir ejderha verdim. Ona Fafner ismini koydum.
Bunu söylemek istedim!"
(Today I gave my girl friend a toy-dragon. I named it Fafner.
I just wanted to say this.)
or this:
"Bugün kız arkadaşım (bana) oyuncak bir ejderha verdi. Ona Fafner ismini koydu.
Bunu söylemek istedim!"
(Today, my girl friend gave me a toy-dragon. She named it Fafner.

A couple of questions though!
Why ona Fafner denilir? What does ona mean in this sentence?
Why birine and not biri? Why the 'ne' suffix?
Did you really mean:
Birine öylemek istedim!
or
Birine söylemek istedim!
Was this just a missed letter in the same way I missed the 'e' out of istedim

No bod. I knew/saw that there was a missed letter in there. so it wasn't really a correction. I couldn't repeat it as "istdim". You got?
As for the "ona", it is something like "to" in "Fafner is called to it.
regarding another point: You can think it like this: "I wanted to say (something)to one". And the Turkish equivalent of "tell someone" here is the same with "say to someone". So we have to use "birine".

You said 'he sees' instead of 'he's happy'.. u used the verb at the wrong word for what you wanted to say.. and Ben is first case, but i guess it should be fourth..
Bugün beni görmeyi mutludur.
Is this correct?

No.. 'he's happy' can be easily made by putting the personal-suffix behind a word like happy (sorry i dont know the english word for it.. adverb?)

Happy - mutlu
Personalpronoun of 'to be' - sun (according to vowelharmony)
You are happy - Sen mutlusun
For HE SHE or IT, the personalpronoun for 'to be' is -dir- However, in this case you don't have to use it.So..
He's happy - O mutludur »» O mutlu.

Yes - of course......
I always get confused with the he/she/it personal pronoun suffix because we don't usually add it - but it does exist in the form of -dir.
So I imagine that "he is happy to see me" is:
Beni görmek mutludur
Is that right???

Yes..but this makes me wonder.. because i read there are like 3 types of infinitives in Türkçe
1.- full infinitive, görmek
2.- shortened infinitive with accusative-case, görmeyi
3.- shortened infinitive with dative-case, görmeye
I never really understood when to use which..
But i figure 2 or 3 in this case? I don't know..

And this evening is the first time since christmas day when I have been in one house and my book on Turkish Grammar (an xmas present) has been in the other :-S I usually carry it everywhere but I left it for Fafna to read
Although in another post Roxy has confirmed that sonra mutlu olacağim... is "then I will be happy..."
So perhaps "he is happy to see me" is
Beni görmek mutlu oluyor

Yeah.. tho i think that's got to do with the future tense?
Because.. mutlu+olacagim = mutluyolacagim.. doesn't sound turkish to me
So i think 'i will be ....' goes with olmak.. but in other cases just the personal pronoun suffix?
