I'm sorry to say I will no longer be taking part in discussions here on TC. I am disturbed by the direction that most topics end up going.
Further more I've recently learned more then I need to know about their "wonderful culture", and how much it must be preserved at no cost. It seems there are many Turkish people here that would rather educate any "outsider" on Turkey's seemingly superior history rather then make steps to ensure a brighter more advanced future.
Please note I am not referring to everyone and have met many wonderful people here. I have been enlightened here, in good ways and bad.
Although i do not personally know most people here, I have met a few people that have become "real" friends and will remain in contact with you. For the others here, there is a lot of people that have made me laugh, made me sad, educated me, and made my blood boil Thanks to all of you, it was a wonderful experience.

Also I am not writing this for any other reason then it's how I feel and wanted to say it. I wish everyone the best and luck in life. To the people who made me want to log in everyday just to see what your saying such as catwoman, femme_fatal, aenigma, pagliaccio (and all your other personalities), girleegirl, deli_kiniz,trudy, MrX67, and some others I can think of right now.... thank you for making this last year interesting!

You are going to be missed.....Hope you miss it too much and can't stay away (like so many others before you )!

Karekin04 I do know exactly how you feel and I also know why you wanted to write this thread (been there, got the tshirt). Some people assume its because you want to hear everyone begging you to stay, but its not. Its because you feel hurt and disillusioned and want to SAY IT!

Sometimes its hard to not get angry and hurt here. You come here with a love of Turkey but then feel bashed by the nationalistic and anti-west feelings of some Turkish members.

Please remember though...they are NOT the views of all Turkish people . For the few who speak loudly, there are many silent, perhaps more clever ones, who don't agree with them but who simply don't want to get involved in a stupid argument on here. One of them actually told you so today

Despite all my digs at the USA, you actually changed many of my views about your country and were a good ambassador in my opinion

I really hope you follow my (bad) example and come back soon (with a harder, more knowing heart )!

I will miss your humour, wit, intelligence and 'savvy' very very much
