My soul = Canım
This is another term of endearment, can be used between friends of the same sex as well as between boyfriend/girlfriend.

my friend calls me bebişim and he says that he calls to his friends the same, bebişim means my little baby. is it ok to use for friends?

I was told - by 2 different Turks - that words like canim can be used also between just friends of the opposite sex. If that's not true, I had an admirer on this site....

I would steer straight away from any grown men who would address any one except the following
- his baby (infant)
- his lady (in private)
as bebegim, bebisim whatever.
