Quote: The PM pressured a newspaper to fire a journalist? That sounds not good. Is there proof? |

Quoting ciko: well i am very glad that he is fired.. keithl..dont talk as if he was just innocent columnist. i am not sure if you know him well..dont you find it democratic? did you know that he was one of the biggest supporter of coups in Turkey? he is one of those god damned men who hide behind ataturk and talk everything they want or they believe on behalf of Ataturk. Be sure Turkey didnt lose anything. he was not criticizing Tayyip Erdogan.. he was insulting him..he used to insult everybody is religious.. he used to insult girls who cant study at universities just becasue they wear headscarf..and he is not the only columnist who talks about his son. why others still are not fired then? i think you had better search about him before talking like an excited Russian revolutionary from 1910's . |
NO CRAP HERE PLEASE. IF YOU KNOW OF ANY LIES HE WROTE IN HIS COLUMN, LET US KNOW TOO......AT LEAST HE WAS MAN ENOUGH TO SIGN HIS OWN NAME, UNDER WHAT HE WROTE.

Just so you know, I supported the "e-coup" also. And I am not the only Hurriyet reader that finds it disgusting that he was forced out.
yes, there are others who criticize tayyip in print, but none bigger. The AK Parti is making an example of him to scare other writers.

So - censorship of the media is only acceptable when it suits YOU? Hehehe - a nice idea ! I wonder if you felt the same things about censorship of certain novels talking about Armenia...?

I agree with freedom of the press....with a little compassion . It is unfair when somebody decides to be a public figure, to victimise their children (or wife for wearing a headscarf). Even in such a gutter-press country like the UK, there were never rude comments about Blair's children or family - they never asked to be in the public eye and should not be subjected to the same treatment.
Just my view

He is still an innocent non-public figure.
Anyway, it seems to me that some people just can't accept demoncracy in Turkey!!! How hard everyone has tried to stop him becoming president hahaha! Yet...here he is, voted in by the MAJORITY
