i dont know about the military side of thangs.. considering that im a female who has grown up in the UK! although, i believe "selam" is a much more informal way to say "hello"
i would translate it to "hi" actually

Thanks for that!

"Selam dur!" is the military term for "present arms"

well, arkadaslar, I think that i should interrupt you)))
first of all i wanna say thank you to everyone who'd answered me. secondly, my turkish is şoyle boyle and i wanna improve it)))thirdly, sometimes i like to lol))) that's why i told anlamiyorum.so,i hope that nobody is angry with me)))
i would like to know how did you spend holidays this year. it would be grate if you tell it in turkish.i will translate and could be a very good practice for me and i hope for you too.
