If a thread is "tedious" to you, it may be more effective, respectful, and common sense to simply not reply. Actually, I found the whole thing amusing!!! lol

Quoting Loveprague:

Hi all,
I am going to Istanbul on the 18th November to see my fiancee Nesrin and am looking forward to the trip. We put an advert in a local supermarket REAL, advertising English lessons, my English is not bad but I am no teacher. We received a phone call today asking is it possible to teach a Turkish man the basic English language, I am a bit concerned because I would like to help and take up the offer but my English is not to teaching standards and I only have a week in Istanbul hardly enough time to teach the basic English language.

What do the members here think? should this guy come to our apartment in Istanbul or shall I go to him, of course Nesrin has to be there to translate some Turkish as he cannot speak any English at all. Would love some advice
Thanks

Sadly you don't appear to have got the advice you would like. Enjoy your time with Nesrin if you only have a week Good luck !!

Femme, how is your post helpful or even remotely appropriate? I have been attempting to respectfully ask that you please limit your comments to the topic at hand. I sincerely would appreciate it. If you don't wish to do so, then I have no choice but to abandon this site. Perhaps that is what your ultimate goal is...who knows. Very sad.

May I just point out Polyanna (meyo722) that it was YOU who have spoiled this thread. Please have more respect.

You have asked many many question yes, on many many threads. Have you ever thought of searching this site to see if you can find answers? Most such topics have been well covered before

Just an idea

Yes, let's blame Polyanna because it is so much easier to point a finger...how convenient. I love it!

I am obviously on the wrong site then, so I would like to offer my sincerest apology for interrupting your site. That is not sarcasm, but an actual apology. I obviously don't belong here. Take care and good luck in your travels. If I post again, I will simply do my best to ignore the comments that bother me and hope that I can somehow still extract some good information for those willing to offer and maybe PM with those individuals. Again, I'm very sorry for having interrupted your site and best of luck to each and every one of you and I hope that you continue to enjoy this site.
